Feel that you are a part of The Oneness.
See others' perspectives and realize that all is perspective.
We are all composed of the same matter.
When you can see past perspective, you will know The Truth.

Now close your eyes and meditate on this.
Small meditations help me through my day.

Can you contradict a single statement I made?
Even put into Scientific context, Zen logic is irrefutable.
Break it down to the subatomic level.
All is protons, electrons, quarks and neutrons in varying combinations.
All is from the same source.

Sounds nutty, I know...
But I've started reading some Zen writings and it DOES make sense.

Yeah... I know that you all think I'm nuts, but that's okay.
I think the whole view of the Eastern philosophies as "nutty" really stemmed from the commercialization of them, beginning around the time that The Beatles took their trip to visit the Maharishi.

Admittedly, it's not for everybody.
And I am NOT hardcore about it.
But reading the Masters' writings IS quite illuminating, as is reading the writing of any worldview/philosophy that is somewhat novel.

I just like to understand.
How NON-Zen of me.

Perhaps I have already shut up and you are too blind to see that fact.
Want nothing and you shall have everything.

Don't get it twisted Todd: I was just taking the piss for a moment.
In actuality I think there's a lot that's worthwhile about the philosophy of Zen and its ideas of simplicity and connectedness. A lot more than any Judeo-Christian teachings anyway.

Just playing along, braw.
It's tough to tell sometimes in this medium.
And I've been desensitized through exposure to Hipinion.
All is cool.
All is groovy.

"Insatiable needs"... "needs".
You need what you need... that can not be avoided.
But "want" can.

Not that I have mastered that bit. Not by a longshot.
Nor would I want to... but I suppose that is a step in the right direction.

If you want something, how can you stop thinking about it?
If you don't want anything, what is there to think about?
If you don't want anything, is there anything to make you unhappy?
If you don't want anything, is there anything to be angry about?

I feel ya Todd. I have been reading Buddhism for the last year & love it.

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try, sometimes,
You just might find
You get what you need
-Rolling Stones (which gather no moss, BTW)

Rock on Todd, you're on the path to righteousness,
or at least the #38-Buddists Delight platter

Mr. Furious: Okay, am I the only one who finds these sayings just a little bit formulaic? "If you want to push something down, you have to pull it up. If you want to go left, you have to go right." It's...
The Sphinx: Your temper is very quick, my friend. But until you learn to master your rage...
Mr. Furious: ...your rage will become your master? That's what you were going to say. Right? Right?
The Sphinx: Not necessarily.
