post a link, I'd like to run my stats.

I'd have to really count but I would guess that I've seen Phish AT LEAST 30 and probably closer to 40 times.....

Other lowlights off the top of my head....

Col. Bruce Hampton and his at least 5 side projects - 15-20
Widespread Panic - 10
Olivia Tremor Control - 7
Grateful Dead - 6
Frank Black - 5
Primus - 5
Butthole Surfers - 4
Leftover Salmon - 5
Bob Dylan - 4

TONS of 3's - Wilco, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, etc, etc etc.

Edit: Considering I rarely if EVER go to shows anymore, I saw a lot of shows back in the day.....

Right, and I no longer have the patience to individually select the 45 times I saw that band.

Next frequent would probably be Arcade Fire at 7 times.

i can't account for anyone else, but i for one liked to do a lot of drugs with my friends in high school. then one day i realized that i don't like 45-minute songs and that was that.

i think they just fit into a time and place for certain people. for me it was the people i was hanging out with, the "things" i was doing, etc. i had some amazing times at phish shows, and still enjoy listening to some of their (pre-97) live discs they've put out. the "scene", as the "kids" call it, changed a lot around '97, and i really wouldn't consider going to see them again. i did see them (for free) a coupla years ago and it was just awful.

There was something, and you missed it. Note how most people are listing only shows they saw up to '97. This is for good reason. Mostly.

They were the best live band in the world if for no other reason this: You honestly didnt know what you would get from night to night but rest assured (unlike the Dead) it was almost always good. Oh, and they could ROCK the foundations off of a building. Especially (pardon my prejuduce, I saw them in other parts of the country), if for no other reason because of the crowd energy, in the South.

Sorry, Cotton but Busters like you were often the problem with seeing Phish---not hippie kids....

How many 45 minute songs did you really see? Honestly. 45 minutes. Be honest. Hope you and the Kappas had a blast.......

For me I liked a lot of what they played, but it was also the only way I could get together at any kind of show with a lot of friends. Going to any other show it would just be me and maybe 1-3 other people.

Phish- about a dozen times
Primus- 5-6
Ween- 4-5
Medeski, Martin and Wood- 4-5
Built to Spill- 3
Dinosaur Jr./J. Mascis-3
Beastie Boys -2 or 3, same with Tribe Called Quest
Flaming Lips 4-5
George Clinton & the P-Funk All-Stars-5

I'm listening to Last Decade, Dead Century right now. I had a radio show that I co-hosted at the local college station on Fridays from 9 to midnight (I was in high school at the time). It was a Metal Fest (Testament, Crimson Glory, Warrior Soul to name a few...). "In Conclusion" was always the last song we played before going home. Ahhh good times.

I think Tori Amos.

Garbage is up there.

There was a time when I could say that I had been to every Black Chamber show except one, which I had gotten iced out of (not snowed out, iced out).

Out of which I had gotten iced?
