.....the software from iriver or software from a device that will let you d/l and upload musak from this new yahoo music service?

Well, people are working on alternative iPod firmware here, but I'm not sure how functional it is. It won't work with Yahoo musak, though.

Using iRiver firmware will definitely not work.
