there are lots of important primaries today for local Judges (which in reality probably influence a community more than any Senator does)

and i can't find ANYTHING about them anywhere.

nothing on the local news, and a few scraps in the paper.
i want to vote, but i don't know anything about who i would be voting for.
shouldn't the media make a bigger deal about this, isn't that their job?

Go 100 yards from your polling place and I bet you find what you need.

Or call the local Dem and Rep offices and see what their slate is like.

It's annoyingly hard to find anything about judges, that's true. My mom's a part-time judge / juvy advocate, and she may have to run for office in the next few years, depending on how things shape up in some restructuring efforts currently underway down there. She says those elections have almost 0 to do with abilities or leanings, because almost nobody votes, and those that do just vote for a name they know. And there's soooo much at stake... laughable.

i know.
and Judges are DIRECTLY responsible for what goes on in a community. It's a really big deal.

It is hard to get people to realize how much these people affect their lives, because they are not big names, what it basically boils down to is the party apparatus picking a slate of candidates and mobilizing their known voters. In Fayette it shouldn't be too hard to stay elected as long as one is willing to support the death penalty for abortionists, land-rape by developers, and the placement of some kind of deprogramming unit for all people like us next to the Library ;/

She's actually working outside Fayette Co. She may have to move to the county in question, because of eligibility rules and such. Makes it hard to look at houses.

Yeah, Fayette is a whole different world from "south ATL" at large.

The most effective campaigning for a judge I've ever been witness to was the guy's mother at our weekend farmer's market talking to everyone about her son. She knew her stuff and he got a vote from me.

who all has voted today?

since i'm a mongo who registered independent, i'm wondering if it's worth going to wait in line to vote on a single initiative (however important to me). I really need to change that shit. stupid 2 party system and its not working.

There aren't any elections today where I come from. And I didn't vote in Borg's weird re-poll of presidential prefernce, either.
