I have started getting bizarre amounts of SPAM, mostly from German language topics, and some that say things like "The Bombing of Dresden Will Be Regretted" and the like.

Possibly coincidentally, but this coincides with the board being down a few days ago. I mean, I don't open any of it, and it goes to my bulk mail folder, I just think its weird.

OH yeah...it's ridiculous! My account at home is almost useless with all of the spam.

There is definitely a virus going around relating to this. It's called the sober.q virus.

You're not infected, but someone else is, and you're getting all the email.

you dont do the two "two email accounts" (i actually have 5 but mainly use 2) thing Dave and it is part of your problem. You register and buy a lot of shit online, its nice to have it all that ish goto a sep. account.

For example, my primary account averages 2-3 "Bulk Messages" while my secondary account (the one i throw out online) averages 25-30.

BTW, anybody use Mozilla Thunderbird to manage your email? I d-loaded it but havent really had time to wrap my brain around it yet.

yeah i've got 4 accounts and it helps things out, but i have received an assload of prescription spams lately and it's pissing me off.

yeah, its actually a good idea to not use an address book or just make the first entry something like "AAAA1111111" to slow these fucks down.
