Last night, in anticipation of the wife getting up at 5 to run a 1/2 marathon, we hit the sack at 8:30. While the sun was still up. I looked out the window from bed and saw children playing.

Tonight, at 7:45, her eyelids began to close, and as we speak (8:26) she's out cold again. I had to close the windows to combat the sound of LAWNMOWERS... (which is funny, you see, because if people are mowing their lawns it's probably too early to be oh you get it.) Yep, lawnmowers and cock rock... which brings me to issue #3.

The redneck neighbors 2 doors over are having another backyard "let's burn some shit" party. Upon out-the-window inspection, tonight's variation looks like a car backed into the backyard, blaring the worst, no-vocals, all-guitar solo cock rock I have ever had the discomfort to hear. It sounds like a very, very bad guitar store commercial, just one loooooong 64th note screaming guitar solo, punctuated only by the occaisional bend of a Floyd Rose tremolo. And one of the hosts is also, from the looks of it, fairly proficient with a fighting staff. He's been twirling what looks to be a sawed-off broom handle with some fair amount of skill for the better part of ten minutes. Shall I check and see if he's single, ladies?

I wish with all my heart that I were making this up. But as it stands, I am alone on the couch downstairs, being quiet, drinking beer, and posting in hopes of a brighter saturday evening.

That sounds excellent. I've got a couple of young teen neighbors that like to spar with swords and throw spears at each other too. Occasionally I'll catch them trying to start a fire in their front yard.

She came in at just under 2 hours. She's not hard core yet, but she's only really been running for maybe a year and a half.

These neighbors are at least in their early 30's.

The stupidest thing I did was stay in bed when she got up. I didn't get up till 8:30, which means I pretty much slept for a full 12 hours. I have 0 interest in being in bed right now.

Yeah, you did I believe. The issue with the racist kids? I seem to recall being horrified / angered about that. That bites. These guys are nice enough, usually wave hello, but I can't help but think sometimes that they're bringing my property value down with pure white trashery. I mean come on, a fucking fighting staff in the back yard?? Seriously.

I walked over once to borrow a 13 mm deep-well socket to try and change to the plugs on my motorcycle. The dude was in his garage working on shit, with a joint blazing away, and looked reeeal nervous / amused in that way only someone who's in that condition can. He wasn't too congenial, really. I was surprised. I haven't pushed my luck since.

But I'll say this... if things don't pick up soon, it's gonna get more tempting.

That carrot was dangled in front of me yesterday, but it didn't pan out. We had plans to go to a catered, free, "coupla drinks included" celebration for a classmate's graduation at a club (some band was playing too), but one friend called to say he couldn't make it, and she folded like a house of cards. "I think we should just go to bed" as the birds are chirping in blazing sunshine out the window.

This is the kind of advice I can USE! I had no idea.

As to RedFest '05, there is very little that could get me over there.

1. They don't BBQ. Strange, but true.
2. It's a small group, making it more difficult to just waltz in there and fit in... lotta stares goin on.
3. I have a strong suspicion that they make meth in the basement. I can't support it with any evidence, but man o man is it easy to picture. And it would certainly explain a few things.

yeah, everyone i know is going out tonight, but i have to work tomorrow. plus, a friend and i made a feast of grilled chicken, garlic shrimp, pasta and potatoes earlier and i can't really move. i am also broke and still hiding out from a dude i don't want to see. i'm going to watch SNL and sneer at lindsay lohan. exciting!

I'm up this early because my drunk asshole neighbour "forgot his keys" and deceided the best course of action was to buzz my buzzer repeatedly at FOUR IN THE FUCKING MORNING occassionally switching tactic to kicking the shit out the security doors.

Eventually I had to get up, go down all the stairs to make sure who it was and let him in.

Really, really, really wanted to punch his face in. Now gone 48 hours without a decent sleep.

I wanted to go watch Star Wars III but the lines/wait are still too long for me to put up with here. Was invited to a big Samoan wedding party but instead I opted to work because I needed the money plus I thought it was going to be a quiet night at the lab.

Big mistake. ER has been jumping and this the first time I've had a chance to sit down and relax in three hours.

The really annoying thing is he's probably fast asleep now and I'm up! It's pretty much light at 4.30 so that's me, no chance I'll get back to sleep now.

Things I did today:
1) studied for a test I have to take at work (95%+ pass rate, and I get $200)

2) downloaded 7 or 8 Cure albums and listened to some Prince

3) rode my bike

4) got stopped for speeding (49 in a 35...there were at least 5 or 6 cars around me going 55+) while going to visit some friends in Hinsdale - this is the 4th time I've been stopped by cops in my life - 3 of the times were on the same block in Hinsdale - dude let me go with a warning - my record remains clean

Nothing will beat getting stopped by 2 squad cars for jaywalking at 1 in the morning a few years back in Hinsdale.

5) Won 10 straight rounds of Dance Dance Revolution 2, ate several hot dogs

Valley: driving home without said car due to the Great Lakes states insistence on salt rather than sand
Deeper valley: spending the afternoon reinstalling the stereo on the car I was hoping to sell
Peak: succeeding at said install

Peak: bringing three puppies home
Peak: falling asleep at 9:30, oblivious to the need to go into work on Sunday

So it DID have a 351C? But it was too rusty I guess. That blows. Say the word and I'll put out the feelers with the Pro Ford racing relatives down in GA. They do that shit for a living. They alllways know where good mustangs, galaxies, etc are.
