so far, so good. some of the tunes have this riffin' piano...lovin' that. love the noisey, chaotic tunes as wel [instinct blues]l. there are a few deep, bluesy moments that are just outstanding. it has a real live studio feel, almost like outtakes from your favorite band. fuck i wish meg wouldn't sing though. most outstanding tune so far is "red rain'. sounds like zeppelin, and is ugly as hell.

IMO, the "mainstream" fans will hate this, and others will claim it "brilliant". definitely some risk taking. good for them. this is some whiskey drinking shit.

i've heard & like "blue orchid", but not enough to go out of my way to hear the rest... where do you think it fits in with their other full lengths?

more of a live sounding record [literally....listening to the vinyl]. no stomping, upbeat, mainstream sounding tunes. mtv crowd will have a hard time dealing with this. has a real soulful feel.

Nice. I am pretty excited about this record. And it sounds like I won't be disappointed when its released.

Sounds pretty good so far, they've alway seem to release something fairly interesting. I'm going to pick it up for sure.

Dalen- you have me excited about this one. I hated Elephant and this sounds like we are getting back to the rawness of the earlier records.

Isn't Prince on one or two songs on this?

I finally found this online. Sounds like somebody ripped it from vinyl, or the production is just that rough. After a couple casual listens, I think it's kind of boring. The energy is missing or something. I need to give it one dedicated listen before I make up my mind for good. Meg's vocals are terrible. For what it's worth, I'm a big fan of all their other albums.

If anything I'll pick up the CD-Single of "Blue Orchid." I like it that much.

And I did. After first listen, I like it better than White Blood Cells, but not as much as Elephant. I'm going to spin it a couple of more times today and see if it's a real grabber. I really like the last song, "I'm Lonely (But I Ain't That Lonely Yet), despite the title which sounds like it was written by Jim Steinham.

Listening to it for the second time. I like it better this time. The first listen was kinda "woah this is.....different".

Every time the bell goes on 'Take, Take, Take' I think my dinner's ready.

This is fucking great. I liked Elephant, but this is much better. I might like it even more than White Blood Cells, and that's one of my favorite records.
