Man, I haven't paid attention to wrestling since WM20 closed w/ Benoit and Guerero as champs. I figured there was no way my enjoyment of the form could ever get any higher and so I said goodbye.

My hypothesis was proven right a couple months ago when I was at a bar that had Smackdown! on and I saw that they had the title on Bradshaw(?!)

WTF is Vince thinking?

Hopefully I'm gonna get to see Mastodon tomorrow night at the Masquerade. I haven't been there in years.

I think so. By the end of this year as I last heard. Supposedly the owners are gonna open up a place in Underground. Bleh.

I saw some great, great shows there as a braces-clad youth. Fugazi a few times, Faith No More on their last tour, Dead Milkmen, Dread Zeppelin like 3 times... so dirty, but so good.

Melt Banana tonight (thanks Tania!)
Tomorrow, work on lame-ass term paper for class I shouldn't have taken, interesting or not. Pack up some shit at home, maybe aspire to laundry.
Sunday, laundry if not done earlier. Work on lame-ass term paper, with possible excursions into revising and resubmitting a real paper. Beer?

Weekend subject to hijacking by a pal who might be persuaded to move all my stuff from my desktop HD to a new HD, as the old one tells me it's dying (hence crappy laptop use and minimal posting since my return from GA).

Dude, you're going out with Morgan, aren't you? Tell me how you like Urban Licks, Kate and myself are going there in a couple of weeks (yes, I will be in Atl., but for my cousin's wedding).

HA!! Busted! Yeah, kinda weird huh? When I made these plans I didn't even know about her and your boy.

Yeah, looking forward to dinner, it's supposed to be good. It's owned and run by the same folks who own One Midtown Kitchen. Make sure you get dem reservations because I called yesterday afternoon and could only get 9:30 with possible earlier seating. I guess all the midtown/highlands beautiful people are all over it these days.

I met my husband at a Fugazi show at the Masquerade. March, 1990. Other cool shows seen there-- Samiam, Toasters, 7 Seconds, Rollins Band, Primus... ahh, too many others I can't remember right now.

I was there. I shit you not. I would've been a freshman, it was probably my 2nd or 3rd show ever, my older friend Lee drove, I had baggy shorts and braces, and a burgeoning skater haircut which would later bloom into full-on hippydom down my back. They didn't play there THAT often, and I didn't miss them in high school.

I was there, no doubt about it. That's hilarious. Hell, up until I moved to WI, I still had the ticket stub. Might still have it in the basement.

sunday: maybe some architecture tour, but otherwise nothing. although, i would like to somehow see a yanks/mets game, even if i have a feeling i'll be suffocated with sox/cubs.

Their breakup was amicable, so no worries. I'm going to PM you the rest of the story. Oh, and we're hitting up for late-night dinner, so reservations *shouldn't* be a problem.

Ooooh, '69 fastback! What's in there, a 351 Cleveland? I am soooo humbled right now. I'm gonna go on a limb and say you're not married, then...

It was a 351 Windsor. I was there, bank check in hand, but the thing was so far gone underneath that I had to walk away. The motor was exceptional, and firing that thing up made my day.

My wife was there, ready to drive my car home if I couldn't strike a decent sale on it.

I spent yesterday re-installing the sound system.

Back to the hunt for me.

Did Tania burgle you? What's up? You don't need to have your appendix removed by the private sector, do you?

Damn, ive been out of the Obner loop for a few days and considering my peeps took over this thread....

Derris: hope all went well....
Sen.: "classic take" on the voice mail you left me; my piece of shit LG is on the fritz, so sorry for my lack of comm.
Busty: beware IKEA (cant wait till the ATL store opens in June)
Billzebub: DAMN!, sucks about the undercarriage on that ride, thats a nice one; you may have to go further midwest or non-coastal southeast to avoid that rust damage; of course you'll probably wish you bought that one with a nice engine to drop into the nice-body-p.o.s.-engine one you'll find.....

Anyways, my wknd:

Fri: So tired, came home from work, took nap, ended up going to gf's house (her parents were out of town and she wanted to keep an eye on her 16 year old sister, i know: YES, my 24 year old gf still lives at home but its a long story), watching Team America World Police and sleeping.

Sat. Went to white trash wedding that gf got roped into being in. Decent, no close friends in site, a bit overdressed (dress pants, blue starched dress shirt, tie); Food was BBQ, wine was cheap, grooms family was RELIGOUS and bailed pretty early, bride's family was, um, midwest, white trash from Chicago who landed on their feet in rural GA....Good times

Also, Obner opinion: They had a friend play acoustic and sing some songs for them during the reception. Decent voice and ok but, being that the groom just got back from Iraq and their was some Iraq veteran USMC dudes there---he played "Rooster" by Alice In Chains dedicated to them. Creepy, but they loved it. Not really wedding appropriate maybe but we live in these times. Opinions?

Sun. Weeded my vegetable garden which is kicking ASS. Mongering. Went to Mellow Mushroom. Watching NBA.

Edit: Also did some epic rabbit dancing.....

i had the best weekend ever. went camping fri - sun. in santa barbara with my crew.... got made fun of the whole weekend because they couldn't believe that i was "roughing it outdoors" with them. they actually had a bet circulating that i wouldn't make it through the weekend. bastards! got really drunk, went swimming in the river, got bit by a million mosquitoes, but a relaxing weekend away from the city was much needed.

unfortunately missed out on the books / autechre / prefuse 73 shows that were going on over the weekend, but fuck it- summertime's coming and there will be plenty shows then.
