Cool. Just make sure that there is one or two seats between you and your friend. You don't want people in the theatre to be staring at you guys instead of the movie.

(lol) the mandatory 1-seat buffer zone. We've discussed this before. It's non-optional unless every last seat is sold out.

Question to those who have seen it, and try to keep in mind that we were young when the first one came out(think I was 8), would this film be ok for an 8 yr old boy to see?

My ex husband, who hasn't seen it yet and is married to this overly prissy conservative chick, has suddenly started putting his foot down against our son seeing this flick. Now Josh and I want to take him to see it, and I keep saying I saw the first at his age, but my ex thinks this one will be more violent or something.

What's the consensus?

If you don't see this film, Dana, the terrorists have already won.

I watched about 30 minutes of the 2nd one last nite on TV, but had to change it because I was annoying the guy I was wathcing it with, deconstructinghow terrible it really was.

I am going to see this one this week, but more out of morbid curiousity than anything else.

Jen, I was thinking about your son specifically with this movie and how he's really at a tough age to see this film.

There are some really dark moments in this film...ruthless slaughter of the defenseless....a ton of death....moments which you will undoubtedly have to explain later in a "there are good people and there are evil people in the world" type of thing. If you are comfortable having that discussion, and if you are comfortable he's well adjusted emotionally to handle pure evil as a theme, then I say go for it.

Maybe you should see it first and see what you think.

It's pretty heavy, and not at all in a smart way.
My quality concerns aside, if I had a son or daughter of that age I don't think I'd take them to see it. It's too much.
And the violence (there's a ton of it - not all of it of the cartoon "Bam!" Pow! variety) just masks the fact that they're covering up a rushed movie that doesn't provide nearly the insight or morals of the first trilogy.
