Songs from that have been running through my head a lot recently. Despite all the bullshit, Michael Jackson made one helluva record back in '82. There is a remastered version out there now, isn't there?

July 10 of this year will mark 39 years I've never had a need to buy a Michael Jackson album.

I have fond memories dancing to this with my mom as a youngster. Billy Jean kicks serious ass to this day.

I respect his talent but not his need to put the kitchen sink in every song or his grunts and whoops and yips and shrieks.

Plus, having worked in pop radio for 20 years, there's about 10 songs on Thriller I have no need to ever hear again.

I could defintely understand that. Pretty much most of MJ's work falls into that "yeah it's pretty good but I'll keep it with my teenage Led Zepplin albums that I don't feel like I need to hear again "pile. Except for Billy Jean. For some reason every time I hear it, I crank it up.

I'm still a sucker for the slow jam "Human Nature".

Seeing the biz' you're in, SpoonPhil, I can understand your sentiments. But I'm not in the same biz.

And this is the tune that I can't get out of my song today. A great, great song.

I believe so. I don't have it on CD (I have two copies on vinyl though), but I do have the remastered version of Off the Wall which has decent sound.

"PYT" conjures up disturbing images for me. Just say no to Thriller for the second time.

I think this is his best album, anyway.

If you DO buy some Jackson, make sure you buy it used. No harm, no foul.

Am I the only one who thought this was about Eddie & the Hotrods. They're actually playing LA next month. I may go.

"Human Nature" and "Billie Jean" represent the brilliant, timeless side of Thriller. Everything else was good for its time.

I have liked this album since I was 9. I can post a link via YSI if you're interested and/or too ashamed to purchase it in a store. PM me if you're interested. It might take me a day or two to respond, but don't worry, I'll get to it.

Thanks, Meatman,
If you have a couple of tunes, available for dl, I'd love those. But a full-album prolly isn't wise, since I only have a high-speed connection at work... not home.

And I most likely will buy it used, because the thought of putting any more money into that man's pockets makes me ill.

Same. Thriller has more memories attached to it but OTW sounds better now.

I love this album and have no shame blasting it! One of pop's finer moments for me.

Thanks for posting those mp3s!!!
Although one question –
Any tricks to the dl?
It keeps saving as a file that "Quicktime does not understand".
Even though it has the QT logo on it. Although it appears to be saving as a video file.

Those are regular old MP3s on my computer. Can you try to force it to open through Windows Media Player or something? I hate technology when it doesn't work.

I'm on a Mac and that whole cross-platform thing may be the issue.
