Damn, Albion, very good suggestions.

Starman is still my favorite Bowie song, I think.
Policy of Truth is a very, very doable song.
Wife's been after us for a year to Cruel To Be Kind.
Everyday I Write the Book is perfect, if a little harder to pull off. We used to do Allison back in PTC with the full band.

And I never bugged Spoon for the downloads I was looking for, but they're to be covered too if at all possible... the Badfinger and Climax Blues Band songs I mean.

DING! I think "Victoria" would also be great for this.

Elliott Smith - Miss Misery, Waltz #2
Beth Orton - I Wish I Never Saw The Sunshine, Stolen Car
The Stooges - Search and Destroy
Radiohead - Optimistic
Helmet - Sam Hell

Along the lines of Badfinger and Climax Blues Band, you should also do ELO's "Telephone Line"

One of the greatest singles ever (and much better than the joke suggestions I posted in this thread earlier).

We've also done Green Eyes, but I think only once. Damn good song. The band we had play our wedding reception played that one for us to dance to, and did a damn fine job of it.

We've never done Green Eyes.

And easy with the Squire dude. I've seen videos by that guy that make Stones videos look like masterpieces. Plus that guy made a living off of Robert Plant, plain and simple. I mean I enjoy a couple of songs, but best voaclist of the 80's?

I say again, favorite male vocalist of the 80's. And again, he made some poor decisions with videos, but it's fair to say Mick pretty well paved that road for him... you watch She's So Cold and tell me anything's impossible.

I thought we did Green Eyes once... maybe we practiced it once or something. Or maybe I talked you into it when you were drunk.

Oh Perry's up there, but for some reason, Squire just has #1 with a bullet. I think it has something to do with skating rinks and being 8... I seem to recall being just mesmerized by anything Billy Squire and also Mr Roboto by Styx.

As I told Bloor, when discussing his mysteriously healthy doctor evaluation: sometimes things just don't add up.

Just listenin' to World Party "Put the Message in the Box" and thought this was catchy and just obscure enough for your eclectic selves.

HAHA! I too was a bit perplexed by this news and a bit hopeful for myself but I'm afraid to actually go to the doctor to find out.

Something's rotten in Denmark though.....

Try eating what I did yesterday... went scrounging in the cabinets, and could only come up with a can of veggie baked beans. Not one to back down from a challenge, I put 4 hot dogs and half a package of bacon into it, followed by some Crystal hot sauce, wortchestire (I know I mispelled it, it's early and I don't give a fuck) sauce, and a drop or two of liquid smoke. Ate the whole thing. Then, while putting up flyers, I fell off the Chipotle wagon again, hitting a chicken burrito with corn salsa on the way down.

I could take the paint off a buick.

Styx "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)"

Mrs. albion and I saw Styx at the Fred Brown Amphitheater this past weekend. They were good, we were drunk, but not necessarily in that order.

(what I always say when Styx is mentioned)
James Young is my neighbor.

Phranc, "M-A-R-T-I-N-A"

Before you dismiss it, think of just one other song where you can spell "Czechoslovakia"

Also, anything by Wally Pleasant, for instance,
"Alternateen"
"The Day Ted Nugent Killed All The Animals"
"I Hate Cops"

wow. This will take some digesting.

Busty has fallen ill, btw, and we hadda call off tonight's gig, which is a first. He sounded like abolute ass on the phone. Sucks. Would that I were a better singer, and could carry on alone.

Ah, well.
