This afternoon I will be sequestering myself away into my lab to come up with a chronological mix of Detroit (rock) music... This might very well turn into a 2-CD masterpiece;) or.. be even sufficiently longer that I will have to burn it strictly as an MP3 CD-R..


If anyone is interested in trading mixes for this let me know..

I'd be interested in seeing a track listing for what you come up with. If its a lot of northern soul, early garage (non-stooges, mc5) and r&b, I'd definitely be in. Unfortunately, I probably over-associate Detroit now with the whole Sympathy for the Record Industry type garage revival. I downloaded so much of that a few years ago when emusic still had unlimited downloads and most of it was absolute crap. If I remember right, you agreed with this though so I'm probably being overly negative.

Im thinking this will have to be a multi disc set in order to do justice to the Detroit scene through the ages...

So is this a mix of bands from Detroit, songs about Detroit or both?
