So for my 666 post…

My life has been in a bit of turmoil as of late. I had to make some major decisions with one of them being where I wanted to live. I moved from San Francisco just over three years ago with every intent of moving back and so I kept my apartment. It’s rent control and a steal so I sub leased it to my brother.

I decided to look into seeing if I can get a similar job as the one I had in the Bay Area here in So Cal. I went on one interview last Thursday and on a drive back I decided to go into this other placee. Both companies liked me so much that I had a second interview set up today. Company A called me on Saturday and said that they wanted to see me sooner rather than later. So yesterday I went into the office for a second interview and they hired me. It’s a pretty good offer and negotiated a much bigger salary than they originally wanted to pay without even telling them about the second company. So last night I made my decision that this offer is good enough for me to stay, where all the beautiful people are, and live in So Cal after all. So I’m just about ready to blow off the second company but it is right across the street from my house but don’t think they can offer what the other one has offered me. Doesn’t hurt to find out so I go out with the owner today and he took me to lunch. By the end of this session he made me a better offer than even Company A offered me, again without telling him about the other place. Also a huge plus was no tie where the other place was a tie place and that is such a big deal to me.

So tonight I have two jobs and just waiting for the OK, after background check from Company B, to make the ultimate decision. The other place is already done as I sign a letter of intent yesterday.

Congrats. If I were you I'd be careful how long you string along Company A. It would sure be nice to have left things on good terms if you end up reneging on their offer but decide the grass isn't so green at company B after spending some time there. You probably ought to call company B and politely let them know your situation so that you can get as quick a final answer as possible.

Actually I just got my student loan in for £4,500 pounds which was much more than I was expecting (it's means tested - I most truly be as low as you can get) but it's still going to be a struggle getting by.

At least I can still buy some CD's over the next year.

Everytime someone is a success I wonder at the wonderment of it all.

so who is company A and who is B? I missed which one you took since the So. Cal job "hired" you, but you like the other one better. Where is your apartment? in So. Cal?
