"Defence attorney Bruce Cutler rejected the allegations, describing the women as "acolytes and gold-diggers". "

This is truly breathtaking hair. Seriously. How far down Monger Ave. do you have to be to rock this hairdo when you're ON TRIAL FOR MURDER?!!!

As far as I know, you're not supposed to shoot acolytes, and while you may not like gold-diggers, killing 'ems still murder.

I dislike the way the advasarial system means victims are always being slandered, but I don't know that other setups (other than me, BlueJayWay, getting to decide everything) would work better. I mean, say that kid that MJ touched really does have a selfish, scheming, lying mother, does that make it ok for MJ to feel him up? Suppose she did deliberately leave them in situations where molestation was possible and she either didn't care or really should have known better, it's still Jackon's job to not fondle children. Ugh.

Well hooold on there... we don't *know* that Jacko touched that kid. Opinions are different. And yes, the kid's mom is clearly after $, whether Jr got felt up or not. I change my mind every day on that one... whether he's guilty here or not. It's like 50/50... he's taken "wierdo perv" to new heights, but he's also loaded and an easy target.

(hypothetically)

also, ftr, I do not use slander as a legal term, which has a precise meaning that I wasn't going for :)
