also, there's 3 singers--so you should probably be getting hit with some variety--

unless of course they all sound the same to you

EDIT: my second line is rendered unecessary after your edit

I can tell there are more than one -
one of em' is a dead ringer for David Gray's voice? And I see one of the members' names is Tom Gray....

Liquid Skin is pretty good as well. In Our Gun is a little different from the first two, though still solid.

DJ is right Liquid Skin is very good. The first 2 Gomez records are really crazy great, and then In Our Gun has 2 slam dunk songs and the rest is kinda "oof." The latest one wasnt a full return to form, but it was better than IOG.

Trolley funny enough might be their best release overall.

I didn't think In Our Gun was as bad as it's generally considered. I lked the last one quite a bit. Love me some Gomez.

The one time I saw them live I thought it was great. I don't usually buy live rock albums, but I 'm defintely interested in this. They really enjoyed themselves, and it came through. Gave life to the songs, and it was fucking loud.

I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on this..what is the source distribution from albums?

i think the guitars are too low, they didn't seem to be reacting too much to what i suppose was a monster audience (i thought that would bring out more in them) and whenever ben jumps in, he completely over takes the sound... sometimes he's off-key and his growl can be really cloying. i think this is capitalized live, or at least on this live disc. i didn't gain much listening to this. and i say this as a gomez fan.

agree here. and you're right, the guitars could be a tad louder [really noticable on Here Comes The Breeze].

i thought the overall performance was great though, and captured their live vibe quite well.

After reading this thread I'm TOTALLY going to throw on some "Bring It On" tonight. It's prolly been three years since I've listened to them.
Thanks y'all.

Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline is sweet. Gotta love a Beatles cover to finish an Album.

Oh no another Deon story, I say that because people seem to be getting sick of my stories here at Obner. I have to write and write so this board gives me a great outlet. I swear I need to write out my life story and I really think I’m going to do it start my book this year.

I thought the same thing as Modem at first, only one singer in the band. So imagine my surprise when I saw them for the Bring It On tour at the Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. They have the Eddy Vedder sounding guy who seems to be the main one. So than the other guy starts to sing and it came together. Yes they really do sound different, than a third guy sings a few songs, mind blown. Not only that they all seem to play different things depending on the song and they were/are a great live band.

Saw them again for the Liquid Skin tour at Slim’s in San Francisco. The highlight being a 12-minute version of “Tijuana Lady” that actually shows up as a B-side on the “Rhythm & Blues Alibi” single. It great when you buy something and can say I WAS AT THAT SHOW.

So imagine my surprise when I see that they are releasing a new live CD with shows taped in San Francisco. SF has great passion for music and I loved seeing gigs there as they seem to love to get into it. Something Los Angeles could use more of.

Will d/l album and see if I need to buy it because they really are a good live band.

np: Giants vs. Dodgers

so nobody can tell me if Tom Gray and David Gray are related? Or at the very least, agree that somebody on this album sounds like David Gray?!
