So, I love this record to death?

is it a no-brainer that i should go back and visit all the Notwist releases?

any in particular to start with?

It's spelt "eh?". And I hated "Neon Golden" until I listened to it properly with a cute girl. I will have to listen to 13 & God in a similar situation, every day. Twice before bed.

neon golden is the only Notwist album i own and have heard, but i like it more than 13

It depends a lot on what part of 13 & god you like---you may like the Themselves album more.

Personally, I love Neon Golden---one of my top 10 albums this decade.

I also enjoy Shrink and 12 by the Notwist. Their self titled debut is much different than the rest of their albums--much louder and harder. It's not really my thing. Their last three albums are great, though.

Neon Golden is vastly different from the rest of the Notwist catalogue. Their previous albums were anemic attempts at Dinosaur Jr. guitar noise. Not horrendously bad, but not particularly good either.

No, only their first two albums are "metal" (self-titled and Nook). As was mentioned before, 12 and Shrink are masterpieces in their own right.
