They are making money if they are selling out shows and moving merch at their shows. Album sales dont mean shit for making money......

That sucks. I would've thought they would have sold much more than that. Sometimes I forget how some of the music I listen too isn't exactly "popular".

I think it'll sell over a 100,000 after all is said and done. Especially if they get a few late show appearances.

Yeah, I would guess that there were at least a 1,000 people in the building at the show last nite, eh Derris? (i dunno it was 85-90% full; what is the capacity of the variety, anyway?)

Edit: capacity at V.P. is 1,100 according to their website; so i'll ammend and say that there were probably 900 or so people at the show.

Yeah I checked too. Last night was perfect. No lines at the bar or bathroom. Good call on the being home before midnight for a show. That's one reason I rarely made it to shows at the Echo. Their shows ended at like 2am and shit.

When the Variety is at max capacity it can be miserable. The last max cap. show I went to there was The Truckers for New Years Eve but I was in no condition to care about anything that night.

Agreed and agreed; perfect night, perfect crowd.

I avoided shows at Echo for that reason when I lived right up the freakin street in E.ATL.

The point i didnt make was that, if Spoon can draw 1,000 strong in ATL on a wednesday, that should translate to more than 35,000 records sold, right?
