Chris Whitley - "As Flat as the Earth" off Terra Incognita.

Looks like they've got a sound clip at Allmusic...

You could put some Descendents on there as well. Pretty much anything off of Milo Goes to College.

Pretty much anything by the Minutemen. I would suggest Histiory Lesson pt 2, but its one of the few that's actually over, so how about Bob Dylan Wrote Propoganda Songs or Political Song for Michael Jackson to Sing.

Then, there's always the classic Short Songs by the Dead Kennedys, just the lyric "I like short songs" repeated about a dozen times in under a minute.

And, while in a hardcore mood, there's always some Bad Brains classics like Pay to Cum and How Low Can a Punk Get?.

My minutemen vote is for 'Maybe Partying Will Help.'

Also,
Mclusky - When They Come Tell Them No (this must be included)
Blur - We've Got A File On You
Elvis Costello - My Funny Valentine (the version I have just fits)
Ted Leo - You Could Die (Or This Might End)
John Lennon - My Mummy's Dead (though you'll have so much punk it might not fit well)
Ditto PJ Harvey - No Child Of Mine

"Short Songs" - Dead Kennedys... a full 28 seconds long.

"Rick Wakeman, eat your heart out!"

edit: oops, just now saw that nobody posted the same thing.

Circle Jerks - The Crowd
Madness - One Step Beyond
Minor Threat - I Don't Want to Hear It

I just made a mix recently of songs that were 2:00 or shorter, with a few exceptions up to 2:20. Some of the ones I used under 1:30-

Pixies - Broken Face
Vashti Bunyan - Habridean Sun
Liz Phair - Glory
Shugo Tokumaru - The Mop
Animal Collective - Sweet Road
Mercury Rev - Moving On
Deerhoof - The Eyebright Bugler
Fountains of Wayne - Yours and Mine
Aimee Mann - Just Like Anyone

Damn! Beat me to it! This is perhaps my favorite song of all time. And much, much too short.

I'm sure some of the Dickies' covers are close as well.

It's over the 90 second limit by a few seconds but...

Cheap Trick - "Hello There" off In Color comes in at 1:40.

Awesome, I will pester you.

BTW, that mekons album did finally turn up at LRS but was the same old 2002 issue. As it happens, the distributor in question is going out of business, according to LRS owner. Go figure.

get yourself a copy of "short music for short people"

it was a fat wreck chords comp with all songs less than 30 seconds...101 tracks, all from different bands. some excellent songs, and probably the best punk sampler that exists.
