Thanks all. :D

30th birthday was good. Damn good. Parents took me shopping on Oxford Street, London: got some health food supplements, iPod accessories, DVDs (Fawlty Towers, Ab Fab, Dr. Strangelove), and some CDs (Spoon, Sleater-Kinney). Also ran ragged through Hamley's, the big-ass toy store.

Birthday party was great. Rented out a cosy little place in financial district and got my friend Mandy up from the burbs with her 10,000+ song karaoke rig. Karaoke heads, drama students, open-minded church folk, and former work buddies made for an interesting combination. My folks' unofficial headcount was about 60. Oh, and I wore my Bobbo shirt. Pictures forthcoming (although I didn't get any of me at the party, I know others did). Lots of cool prezzies (books, day calendar, toys, What the Bleep DVD, et al.), but the highlight was a motorcycle sculpture. Totally unexpected and will improve the decor of my flat ten-fold.

My karaoke choices of the night:
- Black Crowes "Hard to Handle"
- "Sweet Transvestite" from the Rocky Horror Picture Show
- House of Pain "Jump Around"
- Tenacious D "Fuck Her Gently". The original subject of the serenade wasn't there, so I had to sing to the most beautiful woman I know in the UK. She was a trooper about it. Yes, my parents were still there.
- Tool "Lateralus" to close the night
