I think you should consider killing yourself. The world does not need the DNA of people who can enjoy such a piece of shit, and we will be better off without you breeding.

Seriously, this movie is the crowning achievement of crap in our time. I would rather watch the entire Leprechaun series than suffer through another minute of Episode's 1-3.

The discrepeancies alone make it unworthy of watching, but when you consider what they did with all of the fabulous technolgy utilized in the movie, and all of the money spent making and hyping this, the return on investment is staggering in terms of how bad these movies really are. And make no mistakes, this is the worst one yet.

They get EVERYTHING wrong. if the force goes out of balance, if Jedi can sense The Dark Side, how the fuck does it take 3 movies to know Palpatine's the Sith Lord? And speaking of Palpatine, they even got him wrong. How is it that the one guy they don't digitize has the worst paper mache mask I've ever seen in my life? He looks like Gary Oldman-as-Dracula's retarded cousin.

The only thing I can think is that Special f/x made Lucas lazy. Instead of focusing on how the story should flow, or an semblance of continuity, he concentrated on making Obi-Wan ride some chicken/dragon around and chase a fucking robot with a cold?

The Wookie thing? POINTLESS, except that Lucas was bereft of new ideas, and knows everyone loves Chewie.

This gets two thumbs down, and a flaming bag of human feces addressed to Mr. Lucas. Take your Joseph Campbell books, tie them to yourself for weight and jump in a fucking river and die.

Yeah, you totally fucking care too much.

I liked it because it has the best visual fx ever made for a film, or anything else for that matter. I hated the visual fx the last two outings, but this time it actually looks dazzling and perfected, less like a computer did them. And there was some dark pathos in the subtext that made it interesting dramatically.

But to care so much about the logic of the force...nerd.

It's really a shame because I've grown fond of the Senator, but my wife apparently has justed chartered a private plane and is headed deep south wielding some sort of homemade crossbow. Said something about "hunting Hanadaks."

What is this about again?

I can say with some honesty that I'm barely interested and will see it on video like the last two, and all three LOTR movies as well.

Calling Star Wars a "film" is a travesty.

Films have subtitles, ugly chicks and make college kids think they have culture.

All those toolshed ILM guys have all the digital techiniques honed pretty well, but they got no soul. It's not the effects that seal the deal, i.e. Jaws.

You can polish a turd, but all you're gonna do is get shit all over your hands.

Agreed. I would say it was a serious letdown but I wasn't expecting much.

Btw, don't agree people should kill themselves.

It's not geeky Force crap that gets me and other people with any semblance of common sense all worked up; it's the fact that the execution of the story sucks shit. It may be pretty to look at, but I can't forgive the way they had to rush through everything, rely on sub-stupid dialogue in too many passages and fill in the story/logic gaps with whiz-bang special effects. All style, barely any substance.

I pretty much agree with everything else you said though.

George Lucas is like Anakin, he had good intentions, but fucked something up along the way.

I don't understand why something that i have grown up on and loved could have been wrapped up like that. Star Wars is George Lucas's life, so why couldn't he have at least ironed out all the plot loopholes in the almost 30 years he has had to think about closing the series?

The Anakin that he developed in the previous films would've spilled the Emperor's guts onto the floor just for asking him to join him, and then pissed on his corpse for good measure. When a character changes as much as Anakin did, they have to undergo a rite of passage. Asking someone to join you as an apprentice is not a muthafucking rite of passage, George. Grrrrr.

he shouldve made the jedi betray him or some shit.

Personally I find it quite laughable that people take such things so seriously.

I mean it's just a film. It's not like it's something of the utmost importance like, oh I dunno, music - mankinds balm of the soul.

What did you expect, the Godfather, episode IV?

The star wars movies are, and always have been, light entertainment for children. Getting upset about their supposed lack of artistry is kinda silly, isn't it? Enjoy them for what they are already.

May the force be with you Dave.

Oh, and Spade, if you think he's seriously THAT pissed and there is not an once of humor in his post, then maybe you should kill yourself.

I mean if you like the fucking movie (like I did), then who gives a shit what he thinks. Just take it for what it is, funny.

I can understand you trying to soften things a bit because he's your friend and all, but c'mon. I gotta call you out here. His post was constructed absolutely humorlessly and is one big flame. His tone is as dictatorial and elitist as they come. I personally don't really care what he thinks of the movie....I've seen plenty of flames on this flick in the last several weeks. I do care that he is acting like a complete ass.
