If you have a Fry's Electronics nearby, check them out if you're in the market for some new home speakers. I got these for $69 a piece over the weekend in cherry. (regular price was marked $199 each). For the price, you can't beat 'em. Price is good through tomorrow (6/7).

How do you like the Polks? (its obv. a good price) - when I was auditioning speakers I didnt really like the Polk sound (I ended up with Tannoys)

Im probably going to be buying bookshelfs for my office, and Im thinking of the Paradigm Atoms or Titans (dont really need anything more)..perhaps the Axioms.. anyhow..

NICE deal on the speakers

The Polks aren't too bad. I wasn't too crazy bout them in the store, moreso just the price. But after I got them home and spent all of yesterday putting them through the paces I'm very satisfied. They can get loud and have a nice smooth midrange. The low-end surprised me, since they sounded like they had no bottom end whatsoever in the store. The highs could be better, but sound fine at the levels I will be listening to these at for the most part.

I got these for my "vintage" stereo system set up in my office. They're running off of a McIntosh amp and I was playing stuff from my turntable, cd player and iPod through them, all sounding good enough to my ears.
