That'd be a lot funnier if it wasn't what he actually looked like.

Well, I don't want to fully throw him under the bus.

But yes, especially the belly pupes.

Yeah, the tone was set to piss people off. BUt if you take what Swiateck said, that's the milder version, and the damn truth. There is nothing enjoyable in this movie.

The special f/x are boring and soulless and look faker than shoebox in Episode 4. I'm long since over caring about this, I just find it hilarious that people think that this movie redeems the last 2. In actuality it is worse. Nice Frankenstein scene there at the end, too.

I will stand by my assertion that this is the worst movie ever made.

There are a ton of worse movies made every year. Stop being so damned melodramatic.

Like every other Star Wars movie, it is a mediocre story with spotty acting and a ton of superficial nonsense. Some people are just willing to justify the horrible acting they grew used to as kids and not willing to justify horrible acting they experience as adults. I'm not an OT apologist. Return of the Jedi flat out SUCKED except for two scenes. Hamill's overacting in Empire is totally inexcusable. Hamill's underacting in Ep. 4 is totally inexcusable.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhwaaaaaaahwaaaaaaaaaah!

Well, you see Spade, I think of the world in different terms than you, or most people. I judge things on potential, not actual worth. You are correct in saying that there are "worse" movies made. But I cannot think of an incidence of blown potential this big since Tony Mandarich or Brian Bosworth.

Yes, these films are supposed to be merely a spce opera. Yes there is cognitive disconnect between what you loved as a child, and what you love now. The main thing is, these movies didn't deliver on anything. Seriously, you tel me the point of Obi-wan riding the chicken gecko aside from "because it looked cool when they made it on CGI"

I mean, the larger point of my post is that CGI has almost completely ruined moviemaking, especially action flicks, because you don't need technical expertise to make a scene look believable. You just think "Man this would be cool if this happened" take it to the geeks downstairs, and have em green screen it.

Sorry that I expect more out of things. Enjoy "Stealth" and "Fantastic Four" later this summer.

Fantastic Four and Stealth both look like huge turds. The only Comic book adaptations I have liked are the X-men movies, and I'm a huge comic book fan. I hated both Spidey movies.

I can't wait for Ghost Rider, though. Pretty much my favorite comic character ever.

Back to Sith. I knew exactly what to expect going into this movie. I had read the script and known the entire plot years in advance. That being said, I felt the movie did exactly what it set out to do. I liked it as well as any other Star Wars film. It had the same pitfalls as most of the others and some of the same pluses.

How you can think this is a worse movie than The Phantom Menace is honestly beyond me. That movie was fairly bad, for the most part. Only the last four-panel sequence redeems that film at all.

hmm, saw this over the weekend. Not sure what everybody's ranting about. I certainly wouldn't hold it up as a model example for film students, but it was entertaining-- far more entertaining than the last two, in my opinion. Will I be buying the 3 kajillion versions of the "special edition" when it comes out on dvd? Naw. It's just a fucking movie.

And I think what Spade said is right on... when you hold on to conceived notions that were generated as a CHILD ("wow, that was really cool, but I guess I don't care why they didn't explain this certain aspect of Luke's relationship with his Aunt and Uncle"), and then watch again later as an adult, you're going to be disappointed.

As for the cgi stuff, yeah, great, I guess. I actually thought that the light saber scenes were typically too dark and too close to see what was actually going on. If they decided to go back to the stop-motion camera action, I'd actually be fine with that.

btw, one thing I will say for this particular movie was that I actually *cared* about the characters this time around. That was severely lacking in the last 2.

If I hung out with Sam Jackson and a bunch of other Jedi on couches all day every day talking about serious issues such as the fate of the galaxy. I would like to think that when I spoke I would sound like a

MOTHERFUCKER

So what the hell is Yoda's problem? I mean seriously!

I'm pretty sure I'll be one of those schmucks at that turd Fantastic Four movie.

Yep. And not expecting even a single scene to be high art.

didn't anybody catch the Clone Wars series on CN? Sith picks up right where the series left off. it explains why the "fucking robot" had a "cold" or why the "wookie thing" wasn't pointless.

Yeah Senator just wait till you wrangle your own "Chicken Gecko" on the new Playstation you'll come around I'm sure.
It is a disgrace the last three films were totally used as vehicles for Lucasarts video games.

if you were disappointed, you clearly haven't been paying very close attention to what has been going on in the last few years.

Saw it this weekend with my wife and brother-in-law. I didn't hate it, but, a few weeks ago Shiv and I had mentioned the possibility of Lucas doing episodes 7-9 eventually and I find now that I would have no interest in this.

Fantastic Four, unfortunately, looks pretty shitty.

I'm really surprised SK didn't like the the Spidey movies. I think Spiderman 2 is the best superhero comic book movie ever.

There IS no 7-9. There never will be a 7-9. Lucas never wrote 'em, never had interest in writing 'em. Someone else did Star Wars books later that had Han and Leia's kids and some other stuff. To my knowledge, Lucas has no involvement whatsoever.

Fans get confused about this because ORIGINALLY Ep. IV-VI were supposed to be a six-part series. Originally, Luke was supposed to discover he had a sister (OTHER than Leia) and then seek her out and THEN defeat the Emporer later. Lucas opted for a trilogy instead and changed the story to make Leia Luke's sister.

Regarding the Spidey flicks: First of all, I don't like the Comic Book much. I think the underlying aw-shucks-archie-andrews-gets-the-girl storyline is a bit hokey, and I think it's a little sappy as a love story. I'll give em this: the movies were true to the comics: also a love story, with action being the backdrop. I felt Dafoe was horribly miscast as the Green Goblin, and I felt Doctor Octopus was also awkward at best and the actor did not really reflective of his comic book character's idiosyncracies.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

Yes, I know Nick Cage is in the movie. I like Nick Cage. I don't think it's a bad choice, considering the personality of the character.
