One of the better horror movies I've seen recently. I dig Naomi Watts.

I liked it in the theater. It was just scary enough to be good.

The second one was pretty awful. The dear just didn't make any sense to me at all.

ring was good. was my 1st date with one chick when it came out. that relationship didn't last. lol.

(but scary movies aren't all bad as date movies. first movie i saw at my place w/ wife was "the exorcist".)

one of big two fx influential movies since 99 along with the matrix. (if a top 3, i'd add lotr)

i got ringu from netflix and tried to watch it.

but i was home alone and it was, like, 1a.m. and there was something especially creepy about trying to read a horror movie. so i shut it off. i do need to try again though.

The Ring was definitely one of the better recent horror movies, but it didn't really scare me. I haven't seen the second one or Ringu yet.

which one did you see first? i found ringu hard to watch once i realized that the american version (that i had already seen) was a reasonably faithful, nearly frame-by-frame rendition.

yeah i think watching the american version first kind of ruins it for the original too.
