One of my all-time fave movies. Maybe the sunniest, most insettlingly innocent horror movie ever. Best use of Britt Eklund ever (not including the shit Rod Stewart got her to do with the horse, the midget, and the car keys). And, debatably, the best ending to any movie ever.

And now, they're remaking the thing (filming just started locally).

The good news: the remake is written and directed by Neil Labutte.

The meh news: the remake is set in Maine.

The bad news:

Yup. Pretty sure they're gonna fuck it up.

Going back to an earlier thread about horrible southern accents. Nick Cage might have commited the greatest offense of all time. His accent on Con-Air is beyond bad.

I've never seen Wicker Man, but it's on my list of things I've been meaning to see for years.

Same here. That, and Re-Animator.

I think everyone involved in this re-make should be burned hopeful back here on a Scottish island so I can watch.

Nick Cage is the worst possible choice for all remakes, ever.

The Wicker Man is perfect as is and doesn't need to be remade.

Also, a great soundtrack.

I think my roommate has this. Maybe I'll watch it tonight after Rambo III.

This is sad. Sad like the news was of Alec Baldwin's remake of The Devil and Daniel Webster with Jennifer Love Hewitt in the Walter Huston devil role. But look what happened with that piece of shit.

Neil Labutte seems an odd choice to me. I guess he went "out of character" for that Possesion movie...but this...I don't know. Also, I think the whole pagan thing will be less convincing with a Maine setting. The historic background for it is lacking.

I actually have less of a problem with Nick Cage than I would a lot of people. But still, this is retarded.

I'm not a fan of this (the original) movie.

Well, you know we're just a bunch of 12th century Goddess worshippers carving pine tree megaliths and celebrating Modranicht out in the tater fields.

Long live Christopher Lee.
