Boo Radleys might actually get their due.

Glad to see a date on the new ELBOW, can't wait.

FUCK! Super Furry Animals is getting delayed, I have to see if this is correct.

I nabbed that Son Volt on Usenet a couple weeks ago and it bored me almost to the point of swallowing my own tongue.

The only CD that I know for sure I'll be buying in the near future is TSAR's "Band-Girls-Money" here in a couple weeks.

Couldn't find an image for that one. I just went to their site and heard the title track, though, which sounded sorta generic pop/punk. I got worry.

Well, the title track is the weakest song of the 4-5 tracks from the album I've heard already...so I'm still keepin' my fingers crossed.

The new stuff is definitely more raw/less plush & polished, though.

He's the leader of the Mekons. I didn't know about this collaboration. The thought of it makes my nipple hard.

You're kidding.

I think, I think Lightning Bolt is slated for sometime this fall, hopefully, fuck. Called Frenzy, it's apparently comprised of all improvized material. Sounds like a great concept, now give it to me. Of all the above-mentioned releases, this is the only one that excites me.

Wasn't there mention of a new ANIMAL COLLECTIVE album in the late summer?
And that BJORK soundtrack might be interesting.
Ooh, ooh, I'm dying to hear the IRON & WINE/CALEXICO collabo.

I don't know if any of these are summer.

This could be good.

Although not "new" releases, I think there are some more Can reissues coming out this summer.

I'm excited about Fruit Bats, Sufjan Stevens, and Royksopp. Missy should provide some good radio fodder, and I might also check hout the Starfish remaster.

Looks like The New Pornographers will rule college radio this season, though.

The Neins Circa Sunday Anthems*
[img][200:200]http://www.theneinscirca.ca/images/the-neins-circa-CD-cover.jpg[/img]

The Neins Circa are the first signing to AC Newman's new label Blue Curtain. The album itself is a lotta fun, full of spazzy pop and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. RIYL: the New Pornographers, Destroyer on Prozac

And I can't find any artwork - or even an album title - but I just saw that Flophouse Jr. finally has a new album due. Their last one (Hour Glass House) made my 2002 top 20, and I'm hoping for great things this time around. RIYL: the mellow sides of Sparklehorse and Wilco

*Balls Mahoney won't be interested in this one cuz nobody's ever heard of the band before.

Carolyn Mark = one half of the Corn Sisters. Neko Case is the other half.
Carey Mercer = Frog Eyes
Luke Doucet = Veal (I think I sent Haq either a Veal album or a Doucet solo album)
Corb Lund = ex of Edmontonian punk band the Smalls (now gone country in the Corb Lund Band)
Ford Pier = kinda preeminent Vancouver via Boston, Mass. legend (ex- Jr. Gone Wild, ex-DOA, ex-a whole buncha others)
Amy Honey = Clover Honey, a Vancouver indie band. She just put out a solo album that sounds a lot like a Carolyn Mark album.
Geoff Berner = solo artist, mostly just him and his accordion, responsible for "We All Gotta Be A Prostitute Sometimes" as well as "Clown & Bard", which Jolie Holland has been dropping in her live sets.
