No accent, actually. Though I do pronounce orange with arr beginning. Because I like pirates.

slight southern with a hint of NY- ish at times due to mentors rubbing off on me, some have said I sound like I'm from New Orleans

I think I sound a bit nasal with occassional southern idioms and familiars and mainly animate with a NY accent(that's the italian showing)

When I worked in the Midwest I was told I had a thick southern accent. It doesn't come out that much except on certain words.

If I'm drunk and a lot of "I ain't"'s start flying then it could be classified, by Loogar at one point, as "hick". I resent this.

I believe Bloor and I came to the rightful conclusion that, being from Dalton, you are classified as a "hillbilly"

Let's not forget that Dalton, GA is the carpet capital of the world. Where as it is on the way to the hills of Tennnesee I believe it still lies in what may be considered the Piedmont.

Hick or redneck should suffice.

Been a DJ so long I don't have an accent, but most of those around me sound like a cross between Boomhauer from King Of The Hill and Lawrence from Office Space. Basically the cast of Trailer Park Boys, with the occasional Stephen King-style Maine-uh mixed in.

How could I possibly forget, what with all the bodies Benny has rolled up in used carpet and dumped over dams over the years?

I tend to have an affection problem. ie I affect the accent of those around me. In my normal voice I have been told my accent is totally ambiguos. I do use y'all thought. Most useful word on the planet if you ask me.

I also have the ability to quickly copy accents. And not in that Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins bullshit.

When I showed a friend of Aurals around town last year she said she was disappointed I didn't sound Scottish enough.

I suppose she expected me to sound like Grounds Keeper Willie or something.

I should ham it up for the tourists.

fuck you you fucking fuck.... :) (NYC accent)

Fair enough, TK. But what kind of NYC accent? Bronx sounds different from Brooklyn. I've got a major Bronx accent. I literally have to consciously speak slowly and enunciate when, for example, I order at a restaurant here in the south.

Well, actually.....When Im in Florida, people instantly know that I grew up in Long Island, so that's it I guess.

I do saw Cawfee (coffee) and carrr (car), so thats kinda city-like.

Re: the "Canadian" accent.

Just a reminder that Canada is as far across as the US and saying there's one distinct Canadian accent is like saying all Americans speak like Brooklynites.

<---- does not have a Toronto accent.

And while we're on the subject, I've always been curious about why Americans think Canadians pronounce about as aboot. What part of Canada pronounces it like that? Is it a Maritimes thing or what? Cuz I've never known anybody with that particular accent affliction.
