I am a big fan of XTC and enjoy just about everything they put out. I am curious about the Fuzzy Warbles series and am wondering if it is worth it to track them down and get them. Pros and cons are welcome.

Thanks.

If you're really a big fan of XTC you should already own them. ;) Seriously, I think they're worth getting, at least the first three anyway.

If you don't have the Coat of Many Cupboards box set yet, start there. If that turns the Pink Thing into a Rocket from a Bottle, then you'll probably enjoy the Warbles.

(Shamefully, I haven't bought a single Warble yet, because I hate mailordering things. Must get over that.)

I did purchase Coat Of Many Cupboards and I like some of it, although the demos of previously released songs were not that fun after the first listen. I made 2 cds out of the rest.

I think the Warbles are great fun, but they're certainly not for everybody. I think these are more geared to the "God, I've heard this album a million times" crowd, and hearing familiar songs in slightly different (and sometimes drastically different) arrangements is good fun for those of us who fit that category.

Now, if one were curious about the Warbles, one might want to get on Colinswood and check out a user named "tcj," who just might have a folder named "Andy Partridge" in which the six volumes of Fuzzy Warbles might be found. Don't tell him I pointed the way to him, he'll kill me if he finds out.

Download and install DC++, then drop Sketch a PM and he'll hook you up with login/pass info. There must be several hundred gb worth of files shared on there between the 10 or so regulars that keep it running most of the time. You'll be in heaven.
