Universal Life Church. I can also absolve people of sin.

My stock line of the weekend "It's OKAY, I'm a REVEREND"

Coupla months. There was a thread about it. People were/are disgusted by it. I think it's an obvious evolution in the life a saint.

I think my buddy Joe was a minister of that (or a similar) church. He's also a practicing Catholic, but he was able to say "Stand back! I'm a member of the clergy and the press!"

I usually use "I'm Diamond Dave, who the hell are you?" But having the added cover of being a man of the cloth is nice.

Just recalled another tidbit from that evening...

The ceremony wasn't until like 7, so dinner was probably 8:30 at the earliest. Buster and I had to be there at the crack of 4:30, which means I was starving by like 6. At one point, I demanded the senator go out to his car and break the glass on his "emergency BBQ sandwich" container and fork it over. He had the balls to claim there was no such container, and even feigned outrage.

Liar.

read any of Squirrgle's responses in this thread. Many people who know me are not sure if I have a soul.

Both my twins are ministers of said church, which gives me great comfort and a slight dyspepsia. My work is done.

How many times a year do you swap the beard for the clean shaven look, Loog?

I'm not sure what his answer to this will be but IMO everytime he does shave it, like me, it's a BAD idea.

Senator in the full beard = QUAL!

Senator clean shaven = FAT!

I saw this only because when we were getting ready for this wedding I walked out in the living room to find the Senator looking in the mirror at himself actually saying out loud, "FAAATTT!!!". So really I'm just agreeing with him.

How do you know it wasn't a 'ph' phat?

Good catch, BTW, Busty. How's your eye? It hurts just to look at it, but I can't stop...

And Bloor finally weighs in:

Firstof all, nice picks Cap'N, it was great to see you and your First Mate albeit much too briefly.

-You guys do realise this all took place under a giant circus tent in a torrential downpour, right?
-Its "hug it out, BITCH" ok?
-The Sen. did a pretty fine job
-Someone said i looked nervous onstage---I was more nervous for The Sen. than for the groom; and I was piss drunk.
-I've been drunk plenty around my parents but never that drunk, which is always fun. "No mom, nobody's driving" as Foog Dowling lays drag going down the street....

-Fucking Derris. First of all, homie did look sharp. Secondly he passed out like a gentleman instead of attempting to drive back to Atlanta.
But in the morning when I got up to pack up my PA gear and then leave, there he was, still in full suit sans one shoe passed out on a love seat. I told the bride's father, "Don't worry about that dude passed out in there, he's one of our people." Dude shrugged and was like, "That's cool Chris, we just figured he was one of the caterers......"

Indeed.

I believe I have already expressed my tinge of self loathing for pulling that move but it's better than the "whiskey bottle and a brand new car, oak tree your in my way" outcome that would've happened had I got behind the wheel.

Openly had to have the suit dry cleaned though.

And Diplomatic Immunity. We roll like MONSTERS.

Steve -- I usually wear the beard in the winter. I wouldn't have shaved but for 2 things. The new girl in my life asked what I looked like w/o it, and then I was at a block party and it was hot as shit, so I decided "2 burds, one stone"

Not sure if it will come back for a while. I gots to be repectamable these days.
