Yeah we saw them on Halloween and it rocked! It was their third and last show that weekend here in Chi town so the crowd was stoked. They're like hometown gods to their many fans here.

When the curtain went up they were all in costume for halloween and had a whole set up onstage of a graveyard, it was kickass! Tweedy was dressed like a priest and had this great audience bantering going on and kept blessing people in the front row with his mic. ha The rest of the band was dressed as ghosts, which was appropriate since they opened with Theologians("...I'm a cherry ghost").

Yes their version of the Reaper was amazing. The whole show was great. I've seen them about 6 or 7 times over the past ten years and that was definitely one of their top shows.

(I voted for Being There)

They're at the top of their live game on this tour. Saw 'em twice. Both were phenomenal.

np: Bowie - "The Bewlay Brothers" (thanks FT)

I've got to agree with buffalo---they put on one hell of a concert last night. Initially, I think Tweedy was a little nervous to be in such a red state, but he quickly learned that the 2000 of us in the hall comprised 98% of the non-Shrub voters in Utah in the past election, then he mellowed out a bit.

I voted for YHF. I must admit that hearing the AGIB songs live gave me a greater appreciation of that album, though.

I've only seen them once, and it probably isn't too representative of what they're like now, as it was their first-ever show.

1993 at the Lounge Ax (club owned by Jeff's wife).

About 1/2 of the show was Jeff playing tunes he did with Uncle Tupelo solo/acoustic. Then the band came on and they ran through stuff from AM. It was good, but I was underwhelmed.

I need to see them now.

EDIT: And I voted for Summerteeth

yeah, me too.

i've seen them a bunch now, and they just keep getting better. saw them in sept with the fiery furnaces, and it was probably the best i've seen them. so very, very tight. and they played 'kingpin,' which was a pleasant surprise.

Saw them at a festival back in 2000. Mainly doing Being There and Mermaid Ave stuff. Was expecting a lot of Summerteeth.

why the hell does Wilco hate philly?!?!??!
they are playing every city in the world but philly this tour.

i've seen wilco 3 times and jeff solo once.

i have to say Jeff solo was one of the most amazing shows i have ever seen. Granted i am a singer songwriter who performs solo, and seeing him own the stage the way he did was an inspiration. But watching him take his incredibly simple songs and stripping them down even further. . . it was rather amazing to watch.

wilco as a group i would have to say being there when they still had a bit of honkey tonk left in their sound was my favorite as a band. When i saw them pre-YHF they seemed like they weren't a band yet, and on the Summerteeth tour they seemed like they were trying to prove they were not alt-country.

I have a few bootlegs of Jeff Tweedy solo shows in Chicago, and they are pretty freaking awesome.

As for Wilco, I'm a sucker for Being There. Something nostalgic about it being my first Wilco album and immediately driving to the mountains while listening to it. Just kind of seemed perfect.

And the one time I missed Wilco live, they slayed. Too bad I was a douche and missed seeing them in my own town in September.

just stepped into the whole "tree falling in the forest" conundrum.

for the record, the chicken came before the egg. god didn't create embryos. i prayed & he told me. i mean He.
