I'm not quite sure of the usage of "mongerous" on Obner. Is this a term of endearment, or derision? My only encounters with the word are "The Fish-monger's Wife" and things like "warmonger," which present cases for the word being positive and negative. Please, Obner, you're my only hope!

....yeah, see, I once suggested a clarification thread for "obnerese," but was promptly (and loudly) shouted down by the Senator, who said, "Fuck 'em, let 'em figure it out." His point was that, as a 7-foot-tall trendsetter, it's difficult to stay ahead of the Cool Curve, and it was counter-productive to unravel the intricacies of his and others' slang... I guess.

I'm too cool to deal with slang I don't know, so I just ignore the word.

I'd say that pretty much sums it up.

"Mongerous" as an adjective can be either. In this case, I'd guess Dowd was mildly frightening in his eccentricity, which seems (by the review) to have eventually panned out in his favor. When R Kelly peed on that girl, that was mongering, too. It's complicated.

I guess at 5' 6" I'm too short to grasp things like this then. I was definitely flung off the Cool Curve long ago . . .

It makes sense after a few readings, here and there. And I'm 5'4", and I have a fair grasp of it, so don't give up. The payoff is worth it... there truly is no other word to describe that special level of depravity.

Did Zell Miller die?

Otherwise, when did dueling become Derris's schtick?

If you've been paying attention to how these Atlanta hooligans roll, I suspect Derris meant chamberpot instead of maid.

Um . . . where'd the "cock" come from in my title? Wait! I don't mean it that way.

I thought the whole "I'm gonna pee in your butt" ordeal was hyperbole. They actually do that?

So, um . . . again, why is "monger" showing up with "cock" attached now? Not to sound like a jerk, but given the issue that Cap'n Squirrgle had a while back with work, I'd really appreciate NOT having the word "cock" listed in a topic I started, just in case something were to ever come up. I could see how it would be really hard to state your case when your manager is asking "what is this 'cockmonger' you speak of?"

Listen Mot, if you don't want your name associated with cock, quit talking about cock all the time.

Boss: "So what is this about a cockmonger, anyway?"

Mot: " Umm, oh, yes, see, some friends and I were discussing costumes for the rennaisance festival, and I said I was going as a cockmonger, as those who sold and traded in male chickens were refered to during olden tymes, sir."

Boss: " Oh, I see, well that explains alot."
