I'm not quite sure of the usage of "mongerous" on Obner. Is this a term of endearment, or derision? My only encounters with the word are "The Fish-monger's Wife" and things like "warmonger," which present cases for the word being positive and negative. Please, Obner, you're my only hope!

I'm too cool to deal with slang I don't know, so I just ignore the word.

I'd say that pretty much sums it up.

"Mongerous" as an adjective can be either. In this case, I'd guess Dowd was mildly frightening in his eccentricity, which seems (by the review) to have eventually panned out in his favor. When R Kelly peed on that girl, that was mongering, too. It's complicated.

It makes sense after a few readings, here and there. And I'm 5'4", and I have a fair grasp of it, so don't give up. The payoff is worth it... there truly is no other word to describe that special level of depravity.
