1. The pitbull just ripped one that smelled so.... "authentic"... I actually got up and looked for the turd that I figured must be on the floor somewhere, but to no avail. That got me laughing once I realized what happened.

2. Read an article this weekend in the local about a business 8 miles from here in the countryside, where this german immigrant (who incedentally got the same degree as me, study of german language) started doing high-end restorations of classic (pre-1966) mercedes back in like 1975 or something. So now he has this successful, quiet little operation with 4 employees, and they do one car at a time, for hundreds of thousands of dollars, sometimes one car takes 2 or 3 years. I got on my motorcycle yesterday, drove down there, finally found the shop tucked away on a back street, walked in, and asked if they wanted a free intern for the next two months, as in "I work for you, for free, just for the experience." I thought it'd be fun. They looked at me like I was crazy. To be fair, the guy himself was on the phone the whole time, so I never got to talk to him (would've been in german), and I'm sure it was very unusual to the lady I did get to talk to, but I wasn't kidding. I would've swept the floors or whatever. Just to say I was "interning" somewhere cool like that, plus that guy has GOT to be cool. But apparently, I can't even give myself away. The lady gave me the polite "ok, I'm going to go back to what I was doing now" smile and I just wandered out, pretty embarrassed.

But I can chuckle about it.

Rinse.

Repeat.

That's pretty close to what my wife said. In hindsight, I would handle it differently. At the time, I felt like the biggest tool. It's hard to explain, except that I didn't get dressed up in any way (it's HOT here), and I probably looked 16, because she asked if I lived there in town, as in "did you ride your lil' 10 speed here, honey?" Either way, I had an overwhelming urge to bolt, and I acted on it.

Call on the phone, sprechense Deutsch (sp?) and hopefully they wil hand the phone to the guy. Either he will know you are crazy, or be impressed by your sticktoititveness.

Sometimes I think that you losing your job was a good thing Cap'n. You have obviously lost it just a little bit (but not in a bad way). But this sounds like a pretty cool thing for you to do. Probly keep the wife off your back too.....

BTW during Father's Day dinner, my mom was like "So what will Kyle do after he gets his MBA?"

I was like, "I dunno, middle management? make more money than us? I havent really asked him."

?????????????

I wonder if eating a kitten would give her gas?

From an hour ago:

I should go count, make sure there's still 3.

The area I'm specializing in is Supply Chain Mgmt, which sounds dry but is nerdy in the kinda way I like. I will indeed be middle mgmt, I guess, but not over people really. I'll be on one of 3 sides of the supply chain, trying to get materials to the right places or getting product to market properly, something along those lines. And hopefully making money.

And here all this time I thought you were a guitar slinger with a penchant for knives and buggery.

No, you're dead-on. Something as silly as an MBA can't change that.

XTC mix is awesome, btw, but the first 2 songs were silence. Otherwise, just fantastic.

You know, I can't find any of them now. Probably under one couch or another. Hopefully. But if all's well, there are still 3 of them. Anybody want a cat?

We have two and I swear I would LOVE to have another. I'm a cat woman.

But our place is too small and well, I think our older cat would be super pissed off.
