These things are fucking awesome, though a bit pricey.

For those who are uninitiated, they are watermelons about the size of a cantaloupe. Thin rinds and lots of science have packed these babies full of watermelon hearts, so you don't get screwed on content.

Are those the Japanese ones? I remember the Japanese were growing watermelons in square containers for portability.

Most of the time, except for a few of those little white seeds.

Unfortunately my last trip yielded the seeded variety, which sucks.

I recently had watermelon and strawberries and pineapple. I love summer.

I saw those mini-melons at Wild Oats the other day. Next thing you know, they'll make a carrot you can eat off of for a week.

Over the past few years the smaller Thai watermelons have been making inroads here. Delicious, and you won't get hernia trying to pick one up.

These things are the greatest. I read in Time that it took geneticists 10 years to develop the seed lines for these. Best new food in 10 years.
