so just a recap on what originaly happened.
this was the first e-mail sent to ticketmaster:
We had tickets for Saturday May 21, Toronto performance of The Decemberists which was scheduled at Lee's Palace.
Tickets which we purchased from Ticketmaster show doors open at 9pm with the headlining act (Decemberists) playing a 11:45pm set.
We drove 2 hours to Toronto, arrived at Lee's Palace at about 9:30pm with nobody around. After a while we did get a chance to speak to a bouncer who didn't know what was going on, but after some questioning we learned that the Decemberists show was moved to The Phoenix and was an early show at 6pm.
We basically drove to Toronto for nothing!!!
I certainly have no means of expressing my anger over this mis-information. If you look through my purchasing profile you'll note that we purchase tickets on a regular basis.
I'm obvious looking for a refund, and the means to get it.
I have no problems sending my tickets back to ticketmaster for inspection. The bar code on the tickets are as follows:
124950591506 & 605986929682
We are usually on top of events that happening in Toronto.
Upcoming is Spoon, which we have tickets for and for this show i'm aware that there's been a venue change.
The Decemberists show however, somehow was change without us being able to realize it.
thank you,
dan bouchard.

it didn't take long to start e-mailing with a manager but after a couple e-mails this was the end result:
Ticketmaster:
Hello Dan, and Thank you for your email. I have been in contact with our client representative who has in turn spoken with the promoter of this show. Unfortunately I do not have the desired response you were looking for. Even though we did sell the tickets for this performance, we have no control if they decide to change plans as in this case; Ticketmaster is strictly a sales agent working on their behalf. Having said this, I still made every effort to see if the promoter would be willing to make an exception on our behalf. What I do have is a contact email for the promoter for you and I sincerely hope you are successful in your attempt to resolve this.
I do invite you to take advantage of my offer to obtain tickets on your behalf for a future show (please inform me at least 72 hours before it goes on sale to the public). I will be able to secure 2 tickets for you, with a valid credit card, (subject to availability), and waive the convenience charges.
Once again Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
xxxxxxxx.

Alright, so at this point i was going to give up but after a couple days sent this to the promoter:
Hi there,
I've been in contact with ticketmaster for the last couple of weeks reguarding the moved Decemberists show on May 21... They have apparently spoken with you folks with no resolve and have fowarded this e-mail address to contact you (the promoters) directly reguarding this issue.
First off i'm sorry it's taken a while to contact you people, from the weeks communicating with ticketmaster, vacation and busy schedules, i'm finally writing this e-mail;
(they had to look through the Now Magazine)
We basically drove to Toronto for nothing!!!
By the time we made it to the Pheonix the show was over.
I certainly have no means of expressing my anger over this mis-information. We come up to Toronto for shows on a regular basis. This has never happened to us, and we have been to shows with changed venues (Spoon @ Opera House recently) with no problems.
This is a first for us.... We certainly were never made aware by Ticketmaster of the venue change. And while i'd like to think i'm pretty on top of things, this somehow slip by.
I told Ticketmaster,
I have no problems sending my tickets back to ticketmaster for inspection. The bar code on the tickets are as follows:
124950591506 & 605986929682
I still have the tickets sitting here, unharmed and i certainly offer the same to you guys.
Like I said we are usually on top of events that happening in Toronto, but The Decemberists show however, somehow was change without us being able to realize it.
thank you,
dan bouchard.

the FIRST reply back from the promoter:
Hey Dan.....
Sorry you missed the show. Can I take care of you with 2 comp tickets for another ATG show you want to see in the future? Also-looks like Decemberists will be back to The Phoenix mid October-can hook you up with tickets for that if you like also. Please let me know. Thanks

well, it took some effort but i certainly feel justice is served!
