once again, major corporation 'borrows' from sub/counterculture in order to push their own agendas.
it happens to be really sickening in this case, considering the source they've borrowed from.

fucking nike.

If this was Dischord ripping off nike there would be lawsuits and cease-and-desist letters so f'n fast...

Yet another bit of evidence that this country is slipping away from the little guy.

I really do love Nike's shoes. Maybe their practices aren't too moral/legit, but I like their products, nothing more.

I was fo' real. Nike's shoes fit my Fred Flinstone feet better than any other brand, period. Always have.

I can get by on a few other brands sometimes, but Nikes always work.

nike at one time was a small progressive company. now they're an evil empire of sweatshops and ripoffery.

I can, but the real difference is felt in the braking.

This is one of those things that I just can't believe made it through to see the light of day... I can see a designer doing it, maybe just for fun, but to actually print it?

I'm just thankful Minor Threat didn't give them permission. I would have been really depressed if they'd sold the rights to that image to the likes of Nike.

this is the second dischord/band related ad i've seen in about as many weeks.
my wife got some free mag called 'bust' [i think through that mag 'lucky'], and in the back there was an ad for a clothing company - the woman pictured in the ad was wearing a t shirt that said 'fugazi' on it, and the text in the top of the frame said something to the effect of '100% sweatshop made'.
i'm honestly not kidding.
even if it was a joke [in bad taste], i can't imagine that someone would think 'hey, let's make a t shirt that says fugazi on it and make a reference to our clothes being manufactured in a sweatshop'
i saved it at home, & i'm going to scan it and send it along to dischord. using fugazi's name in that context is pretty fucked up, whether or not you even like or respect the band.
