I'm thankful that I haven't seen/thought about any political threads in weeks.

Today I'm thankful for:

The fact that the 'rents'll probably give me a short-term-loan so I can cover rent this month...
The last-minute aquisition of an extra radio show Friday afternoon...
The Extra Glenns "Martial Arts Weekend"...
Four days off in a row...
Since someone else was thankful for the OC, I'll be thankful for the other 2 TV shows I watch - Arrested Development and The Daily Show...
And, since it hasn't been said yet, I'm thankful for Obner...

Oh, one more and I friken can't believe I let this one slip my mind.

I'm thankful for RADIOHEAD. God bless you, Thom Yorke, for making me a completely obsessive, psychotic teenybopper when it comes your band. Thank you.

Forget that business about thankful for knowing you guys... I swear, you're worse than family at times! ;)

We aim to be worse than family ALL the time.

We'll just have to redouble our efforts.

Thanks for this thread, ayah... got some bad news yesterday about an unexpected death in my bf's family, so it's good to be reminded of the things I should be thankful for.

- an amazing relationship
- wicked roommates
- really nice boss & co-workers
- a great family
- an over-sized, over-fluffed kitty
- the occational free CD from work: e.g. the new Verve compilation
- a package of double-chocolat cookies in my cupboard.
- and...SNOW???? (why do us Canadians do it?)

np - "Lucky Man" - The Verve

I'm thankful for this year:

-That my son is finally healthy(mentally, emotionally and physically)and happier then he's been in years.
-Also that he's doing amazing in school and went from barely reading to reading books to us at amazing speed.
-I'm thankful for my new husband and for the fact that he's the best thing to happen to me and keeps me happy and sane and that he loves me like nothing else.
-For our kitties Blue and Mittens who are the best fluffy kids I could ever ask for
-For a place to live and and a good job
-For the new friends and family I've made this past year
-For meeting and talking to Joseph Arthur this year
-That my health continues to remain somewhat steady give or take a few setbacks
-I'm thankful for the fact that Riviera has finally finished recording their album and that it's coming out soon.

-I'm also thanful for my friends here, because you guys are what makes my days go by easier.

(But I'd REALLLy be thankful if the damn weather would chill out because it's getting progressively worse here and it's scary as hell)

I am thankful to Haq for creating and running obner, to all of you for joining us here, and to Mark/KOCF/Quiche for not suing us when we used the name obner without his express written consent.

Born and raised in it honey, it's just that I don't like it like this especially since I've seen some crappy things outside my window(hats and umbrellas blown away, cars flying forward and lights going on and off on cars with no one around them).

LOL You're actually not the first one to say that today. One of our clients said she felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz after coming in from out there.

Our clients keep coming in freaked out by the outside(think it's just because we're street level and it's all windows so we see everything and the doors keep trying to open though they're locked).

Ever since I was really small I've been thankful I was born in the developed world. I mean, what luck! I think I developed this around when all those pictures of starving ethiopian kids turned up on tv in the 80s.

Also, I am almost done with my dissertation. My advisors have been relatively awesome.

And, I got an interview request today! I may one day pay off my student loans. On that day, I will be thankful.

Sisterhood, obviously.

And her pal solidarity.

And wool. Wool rocks.

Now I have 'Thank You For The Music' stuck in my head. For which I am appropriately grateful.

1. My family, who are the perfect mix of cool and insane but mainly because they have been helping get started in business for the past 5+ years.

2. Redlands, which damn near killed me, will take me a little while to pay for, but in the end its nice to have a big new house to come home to every day that you arent paying RENT on

3. My dog Herschel, who keeps me grounded in the important things in life: Eating, sleeping, & humping....

4. My friends, though they try my patience at times, i know that i do the same to them so it all kinda works out; couldnt get through some of these times without them

5. You guys are pretty swell too; Thanks for taking me in out of the cold and renewing my lifelong interest in music. Best of luck to all and heres to a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving

O.k., turkey and cheese stuffed croissants... sure.

But coffee, AND turkey, AND cheese, all in one croissant? Is that some crazy Californian fusion cooking thing?

HAHA. No. There's this drive-in coffee shop on my way to work that has the BEST coffee and the BEST turkey & cheese stuffed croissant. Best combo ever.[/quote

So do you dip the croissant in your coffee or what?]

I am thankful for:

- My parents, who have loved me unconditionally whether I've realized that or not
- My friends, who live all over the place, for staying in touch and caring even though I've moved away from a lot of them
- The opportunity to live and work in a foreign country while knowing its native language (well, most of it...)
- What I've learned about acting (and myself) after 7.5 weeks of drama school
- The permission to leave school if I believe it's not working out
- Tayyab's. The best curry in the western world is within walking distance of my flat.
- ...and you guys rock. Of course, you already know this.

best northern indian cuisine on your side of the pond, perhaps...

but you haven't lived until you've had some south indian food, which you'll never find in a restaurant. Next time you bounce to chicago, we'll make a run up to my folk's, and have a little sweat out.
