Live 8 is not a charity event, it's more of a "make people aware" event? Yet, they sold tickets for each city's event? Where is the money going? What about the Ticketmaster fees, are those going to a charity?

I've not been following any of the hoopla regarding Live 8 -- maybe you can help me out.

i thought the tickets were free.
but you had to have a ticket to get in.

Fark.com has literally hundreds of posts slamming/praising Live8. Not only the bands as they perform but the concept of forgiving debt for Africa in the first place.

the only place that had tickeds (i think) was Hyde park, and that was because of space issues, they were free, but hard to get a hold of, apparently.
