Decent professional firework displays = OK

The jagoff across the street throwing bottle rockets out of his 4th story window at Midnite = not so OK

They only got lame after the noise laws. When they used to scare the crap out of the entire crowd, they were awesome.

I like it when the NASCAR Speedway down the road shoots off their fireworks. They're fairly awesome.

Fireworks are very cool when done right. My dad and brother have made an art form out of putting together fireworks shows ever since I was a kid. Even the local cops used to come by our house when they set up their little show.

We watched the Grant Park fireworks last night off my dad's terrace. It was cool. Just the two of us and a perfect view.

professional fireworks blow. you've seen them once you've seen them a thousand times. 11yr. olds almost blowing their hands off is killer.

Things blowing up never gets tired unless it's a Bruckheimer film.

i spent a couple hours on canada day evening at the fireworks show in the Wal-Mart parking lot organized by some community association. it was fairly bad.

Lets shoot off another five exactly the same as the last one and you can pretend to be amazed.

It would have been immensely cooler if they cought the Wal-Mart on fire. A couple landed in some trees, but they only made smoke.

Much more lame:
the fucktards who went into the race hut at the local ski hill/mountain bike club and set off some firecrackers and stuff and burnt the whole fucking thing down. Wal-Mart burning down: cool. Burning stuff at the bike trail: not cool

Yeah I skipped out on the fireworks tonight to instead watch a movie. I'm sure if I didn't have to work tomorrow and could get trashed I'd probably be there.

Anyone who has never been in a bottle rocket and/or roman candle fight has no place in this discussion.

Fireworks have officially become lame. It's after 11pm, the air is full of acrid smoke and the bombings haven't stopped in downtown Bagdad. Oh wait, no...I'm in a Los Angeles suburb. Funny, I thought those were dynamite explosions and gunfire I just heard.

I knew a guy that had a firework go off in his hand. On the bad side he was blinded permamently; on the good side they gave him the coolest blind dog ever - a long haired German Shepherd.

His fingers were also blown off and the they grafted his toes into his hand for some reason. It was kinda gross I have to say.

When you have a pitbull who's afraid of gunshot / firework noises, late June-early july just sucks ass in general. And then top it off with like 2 huge storm systems going through within a few days of each other (she ain't wild about thunder neither), and it's so bad we can't leave the house without the tv and stereo blaring to try and drown it all out for her. You let her out to go pee, and all she does is run from one side of the backyard to the other, barking at all the noises till she's hoarse... dog can chew through a 2x4 and tow an F150 behind her, but throw a snap-n-pop and she shits herself.

Not my favorite time of year.

i could see several different cities' fireworks from my backyard all throughout the weekend. i think saturday night was the only night that nobody had any.

so, we sat out there with our bonfire and beverages and enjoyed the shows.

i like fireworks in this case.

however, you won't catch me going to some crowded store parking lot to watch first hand the firework show going on above me.

We had a similar deal here...this was our 1st July 4th in this apartment, so even though we're on the 5th floor & can see a loooooong way we didn't know what we'd get.

I bet we could see 30 different displays at any time - some from miles & miles away.
