This really is so awesome. So many parts make me laugh hard -
The part where he makes a police siren sound "ohhh ohh ohhh ohh"; the "he says yes""i say no""he says yes""i say no" part and also the part where he gets a leg cramp are comedy gold

Yeah, I managed to glimpse this train wreck while flipping through channels the other night... I can't believe this guy is even still relevant enough to show on VH1.

"Ignition (Remix)" won R. Kelly a five years exemption from having to create anything good. Not that he hasn't in the time since Chocolate Factory. But, yes... "Ignition" is victory in the U.S. Open (PGA edition). R. can do what he likes, creatively, and still have to get played, for the next half decade.

You guys don't understand. It's amazing despite, or perhaps because, it's a completely ridiculous and contrived story. It deserves to be played.

Good point. Nevertheless, Trapped is still awesome.

And by ridiculous you mean laudable.

And by laudable you mean laughable. This is, seriously, some of the worst music and some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard. Someone out of 10th grade English wrote these lyrics? This is putrid crap.

Speaking of concepts (sort of) I'll be anxiously waiting for the release of Queensryche's sequel to Mindcrime, because that actually has a chance of being a decent story (they've done it once, who knows, they might be able to pull it off again.) If you guys aren't spritzing yourselves over that, I'm calling shenanigans.

i'll tell yeah, i've been working as a carpet cleaner for the last month or so, forced to listen to the top 40 r&b station in the company van, and that song is light years ahead of anything else out right now in the world of commercial r&b. i at least give the guy props for trying something conceptual. the ridiculousness of the concept makes it all the more entertaining.

urban soap opera

i havent seen any of the videos but a couple months ago when you had to wait a week for the next part to be released to find out what came next it was pretty cool

i think if you werent listening when that was the case and just all of a sudden come in and hear/see them all at once you're missing the point

I'm leaning toward agreeing with musical genuis comments.

Even though this is awful, it's also genuis. There's a stunning amount of creativity in this overblown mess.

I don't like it, but I'm impressed by it.

Someone please "enlighten" me. Where is this creativity you speak of? This is hack BS from where I sit. Not that lyrics have to be brilliant for me to listen, but when you guys keep saying this is "genius," there'd better be some pretty damned obvious examples of why. I'm not seeing them.

By "genuis" I mean "hubris and self-confidence in execution" not "great lyrics and great songs"

R. Kelly is the new Brian Wilson... Or maybe he's r n' b's answer to Andrew W.K.

finally saw this...
and kick myself for not seeing it sooner

holy shit

And she said please no don't stop
And I said I caught a cramp
And she said please keep on going
I said my leg is about to crack
Then she cries out
Oh my goodness, I'm about to climax
And I said cool
Climax
Just let go of my leg
