I'll start...

Rushmore
The Big Lebowski

and I used to listen to the soundtrack to Empire Records a lot  but that was a while ago and it hasn't really been in my cd player for the last 8 years or so.

I love, love, LOVE good soundtracks.

Some that I really dig:

Blade 2 soundtrack (various artists: fused electronica artists with hip-hop=cool)
Twin Peaks (Angelo Badabadabingelementary)
T2: Terminator 2 (Brad Fiedel)
Run Lola Run (various artists)
Blade Runner (Vangelis)
Singles

Actually I'm serious. It's a total minimalist soundtrack which has a very cool vibe to it. I don't think Carpenter is given enough recognition for some of his scores.

If Casino or Goodfellas had all the songs in the movies on the soundtracks...LOOKOUT!

I just looked it up and realized the flick is from 1976, so i totally believe you. I remember some of the music from Escape from New York as being that retro futuristic sound from the eighties. Spooky, piercing keyboards. Is this one anything like it?

Yeah it's definitely similar to Escape from New York. Also reminds of at least one Dirty Harry score (probably the first one). Anyway, I just dig on those kinds of vibes.

Good call!

I'll add Splendor and although it's not quite a proper soundtrack album Passengers: Original Soundtracks 1

Dazed and Confused is also good for a butt rock fix although lacking Sweet Emotion

I'm being inexorably drawn into your discussion, but only because I want to see how far the blue tunnel of replies will go.

The 'Singles' Sdtrk is the only one I have ever truly endeared myself too..

I did like the 'Lost Highway' and 'Mothman Prophecies" ones too though...

Lost Boys too....

I've always liked The Lost Boys soundtrack. It's got one of my favourite INXS tunes, 'Laying Down the Law'

I know it's not indie-centric but I also like the Miller's Crossing soundtrack.
