I believe it was on the flipside to "Express Yourself". I just downloaded this about a week ago because I was reading that Chang book "Can't Stop/Won't Stop. A History of the Hip Hop Generation" and he mentioned it. Don't pass on this because of what you MAY think it is.

Heard it, don't own it. Its okay but not really worth buying. Burn it or something, but don't waste your money (although they were coming with pretty cool tshirts for awhile). It's much better then Pacifier but not as good as anything up to and including General Electric.

Still a great live band, they should be over your way after their NZ tour they're about to start. Im not gonna see them though cos I spent my money on an Interpol ticket (are you seeing them?).

Time Zone - World Distruction

Time Zone is Johnny Rotton and Afrika Bambaataa, and this track is direct from the vinyl 12" to you...

I was going to see them at Splendour in the Grass with the Bloc Party and QOTSA, among others, but it sold out in 5 hours and i lined up too late. I was thinking of maaaaybe going to a Sydney or Melbourne show but they sold out really quickly too. No interpol for me, dammit.

Is this a live recording? I keep hearing what sounds like falling poker chips in the background -- I'm curious as to what that is.

I don't have my copy on me, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the studio recording

Nope, not live, but there's definitely some stuff going on in the background. I'll have to listen again for the poker chips. According to the liner notes, it's the a-side of a 45-rpm single released after the band first broke up.

I love the trumpet that creeps up in the mix. At first it feels a bit out of place, but on repeated listens it fits so perfectly.
