I can delete the dups for now - pretty soon the poster of an album will be able to edit, but probably not delete. I pretty coded all of the functionality myself, so I just haven't got around to several things. Shiv, what album needs to go?

I deleted the Sticky Fingers dup, but unfortunately it was the one with 4 votes instead of 2 (had to guess cause they had the same timestamp), so if you rated it before, your rating may have disappeared.

I know this sounds overly simple, but when you get the Information page to return, just hit your back button rather than clicking through. Works well.

I am implementing this technology immediately.

Elvis is a smart man. The obvious button staring in my face is the one I never think of.

I also mispelled Beggars Banquet.

I'm having a hard time coping with the new technology.

I say set your own criteria. I'm kind of just avoiding ranking albums (like Can for example) that I know are garbage but dont feel like I've heard enough to actually rank as such. Kid A and Amnesiac on the other hand got no love from me b/c I've listened to them plenty and just happen to think that they are incredibly sub-par.

I just went bucky on some Wire and Smiths albums, and also added some 10 votes to all those Stones albums.

I just discovered the "clown-a-nigga" feature where it shows what peoples' rankings are of an album. Brilliant!

I am sure I will be called out, because for right now I am only voting for albums I love and albums I hate.

Sorting, bitches.

To commemorate this feature, I give you The worst albums of 2005.

Haq - I just entered Frank Black's Dog In The Sand as 2003 instead of 2001. I'm pretty sure this'll mess up the entire chart feature.

Noice! And a couple of those "worst" albums are ones I'm the only one to rate (so far) - and I like the albums. I guess I should go the route of Frosting Warfare and just give everything a 10.

How about having only one "Rate" button at the bottom of the page so that multiple albums can be rated at once?

Another possibly useful feature would be a page that displays x amount of albums which are unreated by you, so you can rate albums they don't care to look for on their own.

Also, there's a bunch of weak shit on there. People are throwing out 10's like they're on tap.

And, why is 1 the lowest? I know its a 1-10 scale, but I feel there should be a zero. Meaning, you play this album at a party, and I either take it out, or get up and leave.

Dave Matthews, The Stooges, Patti Smith and latter day Radiohead come to mind.

The solution to "weak shit" is to rank it low yourself. Everyone has a vote. It'll even out after a few days.

i think a bunch of people are starting ranking their favorites (10s) first. i did that. i ended up taking a 10 back cuz i thought it a bit much.

Intial ratings will be favorable because it's an "our favorites" setup. That's what the whole thing is for. Future ratings will be reactionary, with people saying "that's not a fucking 10, you twerp" and ratings will even out.

Only time that won't work is when it's an album that only a few people know and aren't sure how to rate it. Then maybe people should give it a 6 or something, just to err slightly positive.

I gave my 10 favorite albums a "10", and that's it. I'm for handing out 10s to your favorites (On a 1-10 scale, why limit yourself to only using 2-9?), but I'm also for using some restraint.

Of my 103 ratings so far, I'm averaging a 6, really doe. I'll take that.

If it were a 1 to 20 scale, there'd be a lot more leeway. But this will work okay once more ratings pile up.
