just post an album no one has heard, give it a 10 - it will never leave the top

Isn't there anything easier than the "back" button? I'm a boob.

anyone still adding stuff? i'm taking a little break & just ranking stuff year-by-year. (this is ADDICTIVE! -- thanx a lot, haq  )

Instead of just going crazy, I've only been adding stuff that I'm currently listening to (favorites and otherwise) that I think would be good to have in the list.

i don't know if this has been said, but it'd be nice for after you rate an album, to take you back to the page that it was on, rather than having to start from the first page again.

It has been said that you can just click "back" for now, bitch.

Has anybody said why they think it's a bad idea to have lots of genres, and the ability to attach several genres to an album (that anybody can add to/change), so that we can avoid getting angry about which specific genre an album fits in, but we can (if we choose) generate more interesting top X lists? I think it's a good idea, but no one else seems to.

IF we can have multiple genres for a single album, and IF we can all add/remove genres, then it would be pretty cool. Are you thinking just a bunch of checkboxes on the album detail page or something?

Oops, maybe I should finish reading the entire thread before asking questions.

Are you still thinking of adding a comment section?

if you're fanatically-addicted like i am, there's a few more albums to rank in 2003

Awesome. Omitting the two I haven't ranked (Joshua Tree & Kid A) I'm averaging a 5.8 on these.

As usual, we are taking something beautiful and picking it to pieces. Stop already with the criticism of other people's ratings and telling them criteria for rating. You're wasting your time. If I want to go through there and give every single album listed a 2, I have the power. It's a freaking list of albums. Chill, son.

Pardon me? Check the ratings, I've used every number in the rankings at some point;

That was not directed at you, Yail. It's for the people who want to attack others for the way they rate albums, or for rating them at all.

Oh, yeah. If it hasn't been mentioned, I'd like to see a feature that allows you to go back to the page that you left off on instead of all the way back to page 1. :D

I wasn't getting at anyone except Frostingspoon, it's just I doubt he's heard some of those albums at all.

And APPARENTLY you missed his post at the top of the friggin page stating the opposite.

Good jesus people, how the fuck is it that anyone can presume to know who has listened to what and when?? What a pretentious fuckign statement to make.

Can we just have fun with this and not turn it into a pissing contest?

And for the record Haq, has it been suggested about ahving the ability of rating mulitple albums on a page all at once rather then individually? That would be neat.

That is, in fact, the second-most-requested feature.

ok. cool. It's hard as hell to read everything suggested. And sometimes people seem to suggest the same things but in roundabout ways.

Ha. If you take the entries with >25 votes, I'm the lowest vote on all but one. Booyeah!

That's only cos I'm only dropping mainly ones and tens.

If I waded in real deep, a lot of these would be getting 2-3s

To me, a Britney Spear or Creed would deserve a 1

I try to judge my rankings on ALL music, not just what us Obns listen to.

Haq- this is really cool, good work. I'm definitely addicted.

Two suggestions:

1. Partial name searching. Right now it seems like you have to type the full band name exactly as it is. I guess I'm kinda lazy; I'd rather just type "Ted Leo" and not have to type "Ted Leo & the Pharmacists" But that's not a big deal, obviously. If it's a quick, easy fix, I think it would be nice, but no biggie.

2. Alphabetical sorting. It's hard to search through all the albums, because there are so many to wade through. Would it be possible have an option to make them sortable alphabetically, or maybe by date added?

This is really cool though, I needed something new to distract me at work. Thanks.

1. Use * as a wildcard - Instead of searching Radiohead just search Radio* or *head

2. Click the column header to sort.

1. % also works for wildcarding

So Animal Collective's Poo Poo Bear vs. The Ticklemonster has three ratings of "10" and it's not out until 2007? I sense there is an error on this one.
