If you'd like to see some pics of where I was over the weekend (Tahoe), go here: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=114491

Good stuff. If you ever get a chance to ride in the area, go for it.

I'm going up the hills today. Getting the train up to Balloch, the bus to Balmaha and then I'm walking through Mllarochy forrest and then up Conic Hill.

It's only about 1,500 feet from sea level but with the temperatures in the mid eighties I don't want to do anything higher.

Should get some good pictures of Loch Lomond and the mountains though.

Looked like a great ride. I've never been out there but I'm sure I'd love it.

I started to load that page, and then something on it crashed the wife's laptop. I'll take everyone's word for it.

Just back. I am sunburned TO FUCK.

Conic Hill is very steep indeed and it has actually pretty scary coming down. The path was badly eroded to the point it was virtually just scree. Coming off the hill is always worse than going up but especially so when your coming down a stream of loose rock and boulders. Definately a 'watch your feet all the way down' descent. Still the views were lovely and it was well worth it. Took a lot of pictures but they didn't turn out very well, kinda disappointed about that but here's a few anyway.

PS - When I was going up through the forest I saw these HUGE Dragonflies. No exaggeration to say they were at least as big as my hand length wise. I was well impressed by them and I'm kinda interested in dragonflies now.
