listen to music most?

Billzebub Wrote:
Just about every mix I make. The only time I listen to tunes these days is behind the wheel.

And I was thinking, "yeah, sometimes I buy a CD and can't get into it until I hear it (back when I had a car, of course) in my car, or on (the island equivalent) my ipod." When I make mixes for the restuarant I can't really add a Slowdive song, and Jane's Adiction can upset some diners ( I know!)
Where do you listen to music? Do you have an audience (kids, spouses, boss or employees etc.) Does it affect what you end up playing?
I'm interested.

I spend all damn day in front of a PC, so that's usually it. I work my PT design job and go home and design summore, with music (CDs, mp3s, WOXY or KEXP) playing probaby 90% of the time.

I tend to listen to talk radio moreso in the car, especially since my commute is only about 8-10 minutes to work and 15-30 back. By talk radio I mean local politics or C-SPAN, Stern, every once and a while NPR, but not Hannity/O'Reilly type garbage.

When I was working at the lab crunching data, iPod all day long. Now that I'm at home, it's just me and my cds all day long, interspersed with the occasional soap.

At work, in the car, while on the computer. In other words, pretty much all the time except when I'm eating or sleeping or watching a movie.

same.

it kinda makes me sad how little i listen to music at home anymore. i try to get my wife to agree to let me throw on some music while we cook dinner, hang out, etc. she goes for it for about 30-45 minutes, then she wants to turn on the tv....

at work, i probably listen to about 6hrs of music a work day.

in the car, 40min round-trip of music.

at home, maybe 30 min a work nite on avg. maybe a couple hours a day on the weekend. if my wife has something going on & i'm home alone, i jam, baby.

In my car and at work.

I rarely listen to music when I'm at home. Of course, I have a cd playing right now so there goes that idea.

On the computer.

Through the boombox in the backyard.

Walking around on my discman.

basically, if i'm at my computer for any period of time, i'm listening to music.

if i'm in my car, i'm listening to a mix.

if i'm trying to sleep, the music presents itself in my brain and prevents me from sleeping.

In my truck, which doubles as my workplace. I also listen all the time at home, and have even gotten into wearing headphones to bed.

Lately, almost entirely in the car. I'm trying to remedy that though.

Mostly while driving. I drive anywhere between 2 - 2.5 hours to/from work everyday. Plus, if I'm not too busy, I listen at work as well.

At home in my bedroom, mainly whilst in front of the computer.

and... at one of my jobs... cos it's at a record store.

addendum: I really wish I had a proper living room where I could listen to music, as well as a proper speaker set-up in my kitchen. I grew up a little spoilt: my dad was a music fanatic and had a 4 speaker system wired into the entire first floor of our house. It was wicked. I love listening to music while cooking.

Oh and... and a little rant: I frickin' STRONGLY DISLIKE the idea of placing TV sets in the living room. TV always wins out and music listening losses. It's so lame.

in front of the computer. i avoid listening to anything but the radio in the car, since im very picky about listening to only a whole album at a time and im never in the car long enough to do it. suffice it to say im not the kind of guy you make a mix for.
