Short answer: they don't. They're 90% production.

It just seems as though their live show should SUCK if it's all production

I've heard pretty good things though

Two guitars and the drummer hums the other line. Well, it's one way of doing it!

As is common knowledge I don't have much time for Interpol but for some reason I found myself at a gig in which the aforementioned were the headliners and I have to say they sounded a lot better live than they do on record.

I guess with the volumn high and distorted it's harder to tell all their tunes are ripped off from much greater talents.

I found them to be utterly boring live---and I like their albums. I haven't seen them recently, though. Maybe they've improved?

You know another band is that is "all production"? The Beatles.

I'm saying that because it's not a bad thing.

Well, I've never seen the Beatles live. But if they sounded totally different (read: worse) live because the unique elements of their sound came exclusively from production, somehow I don't think they would have developed the notoriety they did.

Antics is the last thing Interpol has done or will do that any significant number of people will care about.
