Ok, so I'm looking up some ideas in the area-

Give me some criteria- Price concern, food you want to eat, etc..

Oddly enough, I actually knew you were going to say that.

Right now I'm trying to remember the name of the bar/restaurant/Irish place on S Michigan that I've been to. Can't for the life of me right now.

Otherwise, there's a place called Kitty O'Shea's that's down the street two blocks from Best Western. It's in the Chicago Hilton but it has a separate entrance. It's a bar and restaurant and open til 2am. That's an option.

Working on a couple more...

Found it! Ha! I was looking for it as O somethin. Knew it had that much in it.

Anyways, I like this place and it has great food. I don't know how crowded it may get and if they'd take reservations though

Another place, it's in Printer's Row meaning it's about 6 blocks away at the most.

Ooooh, isn't it a requirement that when in Chicago, you must visit an Irish pub? :)

Jen, I think the place that will provide easy access for everyone (ie, parking, public transportation, not costly, good ambience, etc) is the best choice. I'm sure you probably know better than I what would be best for that area.

Thank you so much for your suggestions and assistance in this! *throwing Dating Game kiss*

Huh. My boss and I just ordered lunch from this place called Palaggi's that's less then a mile away on state street(1 block west of me) and it would be a ten minute walk or three minute cab ride)

It's called Palaggi's(has pasta, sandwiches, great appetizers etc) and I think it may be a good bet menu wise and also in size for accomodating us all. For anyone coming in off the red line to roosevelt/state-it's a few blocks south.

T,

I'm sick today and thanks to my dr this afternoon I'm now on the fucking blandest diet from hell til my GERD issues resolve(lucky fucking me). So today I feel crappy, but tomorrow I'll call a couple places and check on whether they can accomodate a group like us after 8 on friday.

It WOULD help if the rest of the turkeys in Chicago could give me a yes or no that's even remotely sure right now so I can give a number to the restaurant.

So let me know guys. Thanks.

I have to go rescue my kitten right now. He got himself stuck in the bathroom cabinet again. He can always find his way in, but not out. :?

I guess the question really is: Who wants to meet for dinner? Cuz, frankly, I thought we were meeting for drinks. Anyone who would like to meet for dinner could arrive earlier, not using valuable drinking time for those who don't wish to eat. :)

And, Jen, I hope you feel better soon. We don't want ya ailing by the time the weekend rolls around.

Oh I thought this was for dinner.

Ok, well screw it. We can go anywhere I mentioned then. Kitty O'Sheas might not be the bad idea then. It's just a couple blocks away in the Chicago Hilton on Michigan.

oy.

That's ok, hon. I may take you up on your restaurant suggestions to eat dinner before meeting everyone else. Or fuck it, do the bar food thing. 'Sides, I invited THEE OG OBNER himself to join us. Maybe he'll get a fake ID by then. ;)

The original post has been updated with the place, time and address as to where we'll be meeting on Friday night. I truly hope to meet as many of you as possible. -- stop by and say "hello"!

After three years, I am truly excited about going out to meet the midwest crew and can hardly wait.

I don't think you have to be 21 to go into Kitty OShea's since it's also a restaurant.

I'll check on it though so Mark can come if he'd so like.

P.S. Tania, your avatar freaks me out every time I see it.

Hahaha! It freaks me out too. I'll sometimes sit and stare at it over and over. (Pssst, Jen...have you noticed that when the little guy is done beating himself up, he looks like a flaccid penis? No? It's just me then.)
