Is it really as crappy as weather.com predicts? Thunderstorms tomorrow? Thunderstorms this weekend? Lows in the 70's? Really?!

Christ, it's hotter there than here!

Is it at Millenium Park or Northerly Island (Meig's Field)?
Either way, it'll be relatively close to the lake (Northerly is ON the lake), which will be cooler than the "official" temps, which are taken inland at O'Hare.

It can be as much as 10-15° cooler near the lake.
But with the packed-in crowd, don't expect to be too comfortable.

Just chill, drink lotsa water, and have fun.

The weather by the lake typically is a little cooler and less humid...although they're calling for 97degrees by the lake this weekend, so I think your screwed either way. I hope they let you bring water in because if they don't I'm sure they'll work you over with $5 bottled water (bastards). Actually, I'd probably just drink out of buckingham fountain if I were you.

See I saw it as high 92 on saturday and high 80's sunday with chance of thunderstorms.

Though every time they predict thunderstorms or rain here it never happens. Or rarely.

It won't be super bad Tania. It is cooler over here because we're a hop skip and a jump from the lake. And in Grant Park, well, maybe it won't be super bad. Plus if you have the two day pass you have re-entry meaning you can always go back to your hotel for a couple hours if the bands are annoying or what have you.

That's what I'm doing.

what cockamamy weather report did you read where it said sunday is supposed to be in the 80's? I'd stop using that as your weather reference STAT.

I was going by yahoo.com's weather last night.

Oh dear god I'm going to die on sunday. Quite possibly literally. I hibernate this time of year. Having MS is bad enough, i'm already sensitive as fuck to this weather. Fuck fuck fuck. I'm going naked to Lollapalooza on sunday if I can. Either that or wearing my bathing suit and a skirt. screw everything else.

it has been hot here recently but no humidity - which is nice. Now supposed to be in the 80s for the next week - the next 3 months here is some of the best weather anywhere.

Have you seen the Phoenix weather recently? 117, 115 with 90 for a low. That is hot.

It's summer. It's a gazillion degrees, but we haven't a spit of rain since March. Spring was on May 7th this year.

Some Northern IL counties are petitioning the state to be declared natural disaster zones.

Are there trees at Grant Park? Will I have to resort to wearing one of these?

I figure if I can survive years of attending Coachella festivals in the middle of the Mojave Desert, I can live through sweltering humidity in Chicago's city centre.

My friend just emailed us a prediction of 100 degrees both days! You gots to be kidding me. I just didn't go to Sunday's Intonation because of the heat. I wouldn't bail on this event though.

[IMO]Intonation Lineup = much better than Lolla Line-up.[/IMO]

edit: The only bands I'd have a real interest in seeing at lolla would be pixies, spoon and arcade fire.

See, I'm in the opposite camp. I could only come up with two maybe three I would have seen at Intonation.

Lolla-Many. Plus I have re-entry and live close.

I guess it all personal opinion. I hold most bands at Intonation in higher regard than I do anyone on the bill except the pixies and and maybe spoon.

Also, I would like to take the time to thank you Aural. You and your indie music is the reason our softball games have been cancelled for the next 2 weeks :x

I honestly didn't care for much of the Intonation lineup except really Diplo and I didn't even catch him. I plead ignorance on most of the bands in that line-up. Trust me, Lolla's lineup isn't doing a ton for me, but there are actually some bands I really respect and enjoy that are scheduled. When's the next time Los Amigos Invisibles and Z-Trip are playing in Grant Park? Never.

Plus, I paid $101 for both days, so I'm going no matter what.

You didn't wanna play anyway, it was gonna be too damn hot. Think of me as saving you from heat exhaustion.

My girlfriend's a nurse she gives me I/V's and stuff. I would've pulled through.... :D Have fun, enjoy our glorious city. Don't go to Navy Pier, unless you like overpriced everything and 100,000,000 tourist.
