I've never once criticized Hegel for "fucking up" before, but in this case, I felt I needed to express my opinion so that he can remember this feeling the next time he decides to leave a dog on a leash in the sun, and go about his day. I think some people take for granted that others have the same interest and knowledge base as themselves. People who have pets, and care for them take this lesson as "common sense." But obviously it is not because he didn't intentionally do it, and moreover he was trying to do the right thing for the dog. And anybody can tell from his post that he learned a valuable lesson. Calling him an asshole won't make that any clearer.
