The current standings have the Orioles and Blue Jays switched AND the Red Sox and Yankees switched, so no matter what happens at the top, it's unlikely the Blue Jays will finish third so the streak will probably be broken.

So now there's a three-way tie for first place, though the Yankees have played 2 less games than the O's and Sox. Still, pretty great race here.

With that sort of kneejerk reaction, you sound like a Red Sox fan. Ryan has been fabulous all year.

A comparison:

Ponson - 62 strikeouts in 113 1/3 innings
Ryan - 63 strikeouts in 43 innings

I would be much quicker to blame Ponson (who you do blame), Lopez, Cabrera, Kline, and Sosa for that than Ryan. Actually, the only person I'd blame less than Ryan would be Roberts. Maybe Tejada.
