nt to sell/give me?

i'm making this mix for a friend w/a children's book theme and was hoping to hollow out a section inside a book to hide the cd in. right now i'm just using a dictionary but i it'd be nice if it were related to the theme of the cd. i've been to a few places but haven't had much luck. thought someone might have one collecting dust somewhere

Have you visited thrift or used book stores nearby? I'm sure you'd be able to find something there. I love my big ass children's books and would hate to part with them.

does it have to be thick? it's not like CDs are thicker than like 15 pages. or are you putting the whole case in there. make th book the case.

I think he just needs something thicker than your average Dr. Suess or Little Golden Book.

those are like $4 at a bookstore, probably cheaper if there's a bargains section.

yeah, i went to a few thrift and book stores expecting to find a pretty decent selection, but unfortunately was unable to find anything i could use. looking for something with at least 3 or 4 hundred pages, and about 7" wide - the older and thicker the better. haven't figured out exactly how i'll hold the cd inside- thinking of just attaching the plastic thing you find in a cd case that normally holds them in place to the inside of the back cover. anyway, i'm sure i can find something on ebay or something

400 pages? i'd think if someone's got a 400 page kids' book they're not gonna wana let it go, especially a hardcover.. there might be like a pooh collection or something, but other than that you'll probably be paying a pretty hefty sum.

What about one of the Shel Silverstein books? Those are pretty thick.

Or a hardcover copy of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

Not that thick.

My son has been reading all of his books right now, so nah, they're not that thick.

Anyways, I'm rather against this hollowing out of any book thing. That's just evil to do to a book.

that's why it's best to find one you've never heard of at a used bookstore.

Yes but I'm saying I don't like it at all whether it's a book he knows or not.

I know what you're saying, but if it's a piece of shit no one wants anyway, and he does a good job with it, it will be at least as useful/meaningful in container form.

I have a ton of children's books that i just snatched up from my mom's attic. they're all old and worn, too. unfortunately, i'm not at home right now and won't be until late tonight.

pm me and let me know what dimensions you're looking for and i'll find something for you to use.

Gar == Garbage

Gar Age == Garbage Age == old enough to throw out

Gar Age Sale == Trying to make some money off of garbage

done for the most part. decided to use a smaller book- had to sacrifice the secret book safe feel a thicker book would have provided, but i think this works a lot better. unfortunately the disc skips so i'll probably have to make another book-case.

interlude (milo) - modest mouse
ducks like rain - raffi
old king cole - dragibus
i'm sticking with you (demo) - velvet underground
my chinchilla - cub
owls go - architecture in helsinki
i can tell that we're gonna be friends - white stripes
pollen - mirah
wraith pinned to the mist - of montreal
who's go the crack - moldy peaches
continuing story of bungalo bill - beatles
how it should be (sha sha) - b. kweller
we have mice - casiotone for the painfully alone
spinal meningitis - ween
after hours - vu
oh anna - microphones
speeding motorcycle - d. johnston & ylt
twin falls - bts
black bird - beatles
apricot tea - robot ate me
coin operated boy - dresden dolls
good friday - cocorosie
penelope - pinback
sprout & the bean - j. newsom
casper - d. johnston

it's a fictional anti-bible, as created by h.p. lovecraft.

it's also the book in the evil dead movies.
